I enjoy the cooler weather rides but below 40f I won't bother unless I have to. I ride for pleasure and anything colder than that is not .

If I use my head to to heated gear (Gerbings) and the right layering there is no temperature I don't enjoy riding in. My only concern is if it is bad for the bike or not. My coldest ride was for 40 minutes on clear roads with a temperature of -6 and a windchill of -30 standing still. I was comfortably warm and only stopped riding due to concern that my bike might freeze up and leave me stranded. I like the challenge. Ice and snow are a completely different story. I avoid that.

At 72 yrs old, I put my bike away early in October, for her hibernation period till April first............ I have ridden enough miles on it in the summer, (when I'm comfortable) NO NEED, to ride around aim-ish-ly just to prove that I can do it..and add Uncomfortable miles to the bike..

when I was younger @ 16 -18 yrs old, that's all I had, was a Honda 50 cc and I rode that baby all winter long....
