From my recent front speaker replacement, I have no fear of removing the panel on top that gives access to the front speakers, but am having some reservations about getting into the amp install(unit from EC) because of having to remove the larger top shelf that goes around radio and is connected to the two side parts of the fairing. I have read Rumplepipes web site and he strongly suggests a manual which I will get if I attempt this job, but am wondering if I could get the amp install job done without having to remove this larger top shelf. My concern is that I will have to remove a bunch of stuff from underneath this shelf, and wonder about getting it all back together without screwing something up.

I never remove the top shelter when I do an amp install. I very patiently wiggle the wire up under, and when one is started, use electrical tape to secure wire 2 to wire 1 and drag both of them up together.
