I'm interested in installing the Tiregard brand of TPMS system for trikes on my '09 GL1800 w/MT Adventure series trike conversion. I presume the OEM TPMS system has beem completely disabled by MT cause I couldn't get the front sensor to turn on the warning light on. My question is: Can I install Tiregard's sensor on the OEM TPMS stem on the front tire or should I replace that stem w/ a non-TPMS stem?

TireGard

When I Hanniganized my 2009 GL1800 which had the OEM TPMS I had to take the OEM system out of service, as the sensor computer needed both the rear and front inputs to work. I then installed the TireGard trike version valve stem cap sensors onto both the rear tires as well as the OEM 09 front wheel valve stem with the OEM TPMS sensor still inside. Works fine, actually better than the OEM TPMS in that it gives real tire pressures with a low pressure warning flash, not just a light when it is low.
