Recently had to trailer my 18 for a long haul and literally tore off my left side heat shield going up the ramp transition. Had the front of the trailer lifted and a block of wood under the back of the ramp to ease the transition angle but she still hit going up and scraped rolling off.
Lost my left heat shield and bent up the tabs on the actual exhaust that connect to the tabs on the shield. $220 later and I have a new shield on the way but my mounts are now buggered up. They're still on there but bent to heck.
Hopefully I can gently bend things back into shape to get the new shield back on.
I have a Teaxxion skid plate on the bike that saved the engine block from any damage. Good purchase that skid plate.
Anyone else deal with this and have a solid solution? I had the bike suspension all the way up to two-up with luggage but I still bottomed out l.
