I'm surprised to see you say that the GW is top heavy. I don't find that at all. The center of gravity on my GW is much lower than the HD Ultra Classic I came off of, making it much easier to handle. Does not feel like a bike that is just south of 900 lbs. In any case I never walk the bike with the side stand down so no problem following your recommendation :) I do agree to make sure you use some blue locktite when you put your set screws in, otherwise they will come out.
I agree that Goldey is not top heavy while riding, but for me, while walking the bike the range of motion to tipping point is narrow, and once reached difficult to overcome. A degree or two of lean too far, and she's going down. This is also, at least for me, a problem when coming to a stop light, particularly with a pillion aboard. I have to concentrate to keep the bike very close to vertical or I will dump the bike and the pillion.

I've been using this Kuryakyn Kickstand P/N 7104 since new and have not had any issues. They're not cheap. About $100 I'd guess.
I also carry a free Kick Stand Pad I got somewhere . . . just in case.
Pictures of both are attached.

DING DING DING DING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! # 3. That's the winner by a landslide. I also got one of these about a million years ago FOR FREE from.................I don't remember where. It works the same today as it worked when I got it one million years ago AND it will work a million years from now. Spend the extra $$$$ on travel, a gift for someone, a good meal..................ANYTHING but to lean a motorcycle on.

What happened to using a flattened soda can? :ROFLMAO:
Personally, I don't want to have to look around for one when I need. Or deal with having to put a disk down on the ground and futz around with a string to pick it up. I just put my kickstand down always confident it will stay up. I prefer to just make life easy for a few bucks.

I would email Max. I've found up to now that their customer service is stellar.

I've had mine on for over a year. No issues...

I sent an email to Traxxion Dynamics and Max responded right away.

He apologized and said they'd ship out a replacement 😁

He said it was the first one with that problem out of 1500+ sold - I told him that as someone with a career in aerospace quality control, an incident rate of 1 in 1500 was stellar quality!!

Good on Max and Traxxion Dynamics for epic customer service when it may simply have been a fluke (or my bike is unique 🤔)

Either way, I am pleased.

Maybe something like this?

Interesting solution...

There is no limit to human ingenuity, optimism, and stubborness. At around $4000.00 these are a less-expensive alternative to a trike, although both alternatives are effectively a return to training wheels.

Yeah, but at least these training wheels go away after 4-5 MPH!

Would be awesome to use at the "slow drag races" at the local CycleGear...:)

Mine did not come with a second set screw (or I lost it more likely). My set screw loosened a few times and I had read here to install the second smaller set screw to lock the first one in place. After trying to find one at the local hardware stores unsuccessfully and not wanting to buy 200 from Amazon, I dropped Max a note. He explained they had two versions and asked me which version I had (metric or SAE). I responded and told him I was fully willing to pay as I likely lost the set screw. He sent me 4 of them gratis (2 long and 2 short).

Customer service like that I why I'm willing to play for products designed and sold here in the US. If you buy one of the Chinese knock-offs (where they steal someone else's design and mark the price down) you will not get any customer service to speak of. And the part is almost always not the same quality.

If I need anything that Max sells, I'll buy it from him. I want places like him to stay in business and pay more if I have to, knowing full well if I have an issue he will back me up 100%.

A good lesson here... Spend your money where it counts and not where it's the cheapest thing....

I'm glad he took care of you (no affiliation, just a satisfied customer)

I just ordered one from Traxxion. I have a plastic disk that was a giveaway years ago but don't use much. After finally having to use it in the grass Saturday I realize having one attached will be one less thing to remember ( or forget ).

I got the Traxxion and loved it until it fell off; the little screws loosened. I bought another one from Max and THIS TIME I used some rubber cement to ensure I keep the new unit. Works great!
The new one fell off DESPITE the rubber cement; not strong enough. The screws were still in place and would not budge (glued in place). The screw ENDS had worn a bit when looking inside the SHOE that fell off in a parking lot. The glue I used had broken loose, also. I had about 5k miles since installing this one.

SO, this time I used JB WELD (2-part epoxy) applied to all surfaces. We'll see if it stays on the sidestand this time! I'm glad it came off in a parking lot instead of on the road somewhere; I could find it this time!

I wanted to update...

Although I did get an immediate reply to my email, and Max said he would take care of the replacement part and notify his guys about it as well - it's been 3 months, and I've not heard or seen anything from Traxxion. 😔

Not wanting to 'stir the pot' by contacting Traxxion again, I ended up drilling out the Traxxion threads, and retapping it with a 1/4-20 tap and remounting the damaged part (with lots of black RTV) in the hopes it stays put.....

In the end, it send I had to either replace it myself or fix the original part to be functional (which I opted to do), and I'll keep my opinions about the parts quality, or the result of the customer service provided to myself.

Mine fits into the mainly unused fairing pocket. Simple to drop and retrieve. I was going to purchase a better pad but decided to see how many times I would use one. Last year I used it twice so decided I could spend the money on fuel.
I see this is an old post.....the whole thread. This DEFINITELY falls into the category of 'whatever makes you happy.'

I haven't checked EVERY post. Around 40.00 ?? To each his own. I've been putting a plastic/rubber kickstand pad ( I got for free from Harley D. when I had one many years ago ) down when I need it.

Works as intended, literally cost me nothing, and it takes a whole 10 seconds to get it out of the saddle bag to place down.

I use that saved $40.00 on a good meal.

Sorry your customer service was not the same as mine :(. It's a shame. Me.. I would contact them again. I figure everyone can forget things from time to time (I know I do). But it should have been taken care of for sure.
