Trip was great weather was great.
Day 1 Winnipeg to Ironwood MI
Day 2 Ironwood to Macinaw MI on the #2 some really nice scenery, lucked out
on the Mackinaw bridge and didn't have to go on the grate , sure was windy
though. Picked up some Fudge in Mackinaw city. Stayed at the Baymont reallly
nice (around $80/nite)
Day 3 Macinaw through the Tunnel of Trees(very nice slow ride the road is
very skinny) to Traverse City to the Sleeping Giant Dunes back to Traverse
City
Day 4 Traverse City to Frankenmuth(nice german style town) then to Lapeer
MI, stayed at a nice hotel(Best Western 88/nite) and had a fantastic
steak at place almost right beside it.
Day 5 -Lapeer to Peterborough ON nothing special crossed at Sarnia and drove
the 402 to the 401. One thing I have found is that speed limits in Ontario
seem to be a suggestion. Got caught in rush hour(hahaha) traffic on the 401,
almost overheated the wing, got real close to the red.Stayed at a motel
6(thought it was overpriced when they say no frills they mean no frills )
Day 6 Peterborough to Ottawa on the # 7 had lunch at a nice chip wagon in
Perth.
Day 7-8-9-10 Visit family in Ottawa and attended my Dads 80th birthday
party.
Day 11- Ottawa to Sault Ste Marie- Started out cooler(around 10-12) but
warmed up nice by North Bay.Stayed in a nice little motel the Sattelite-
older but clean.
Day 12 Soo to Ignace- Day was 4 degrees C when we left but got into the
teens by Wawa. As usual beautiful scenery but gas can be real expensive at
some of the smaller towns(hit a 1.50$/liter at marathon)
Day 13 Ignace to Winnipeg Temp in the 30's by the time we got to Winnipeg.
Good to be home. The Wing performed superbly.
