About $600
Exactly......give or take a few pennies.
A lot of money for basically a holder for a rear brake light.
Thanks to Gary for providing valuable information on the Honda setup......Today I called the dealer for my 2022 and told them to cancel the Honda Trunk rack/light/harness. (y)

The Goldstrike unit is cheap by comparison and allows programming with an APP to suit your desired light output........besides brake lights it also includes running lights as well as turn signals.
I'm considering this option instead.

for 28 bucks ElectricalConnection sells a one wire, plug and play,10 minute install, harness that adds adjustable intensity running lights to the OEM brake light. This varies the running lights from dim to way too bright. See below with running lights on in middle bright mode. It installs under the seat. No need to take the trunk apart...

I don't know about the later version, but the 2018-20 version is rated at only 5 pounds. Just my opinion, but it's not worth the expense or effort of installing it, much less having to keep the chrome clean. If I had it to do over, I wouldn't get it.

Edit: Coming up on 5 years, and I've never used my OEM rack. Not once. Never had anything light enough to put on there that I couldn't just stick in the trunk.
I use mine all the time while motorcycle camping and I have way more than 5 pounds on it.. more like 25lbs.

I hear you. What it's rated to hold and what it will hold, at least in the short term, are different. I assume Honda had a reason for a 5lb rating, and on this at least I choose to be swayed. Perhaps they found that too much extra weight loaded so high destabilized handling in some situations, so it's a liability issue. Perhaps--and this seems to me the more likely--they found that, because the rack mounts directly on the top-box lid, over too much weight caused stress damage to the lid. Perhaps there's some other reason. I couldn't say. Personally, I treat that warning exactly the same way I treat tire-load-limit warnings. I might not have a problem if I exceed the limits, but I don't want to find out. Probably the limit is too conservative, and you won't suffer any ill effects from exceeding it. I hope you don't. Fingers crossed.

The pictures posted above look similar when viewed from this angle. The underside is different on the newer version.

I installed the 2021-22 Honda OEM trunk rack on my 22 Tour. The rack mounts are different in position from the earlier versions. The newer rack has the mounting bosses welded more inline, than angled out. This more inline version accommodates the 2021+ trunk lid.

Yes, it does come with a 5lbs. caution sticker. The OEM rack is built like a tank, and would EASILY hold more weight. I think the weight limitation is a lateral center of gravity concern to satisfy the Honda attorneys, as is the weight limitation placed on the trunk.

If you EVER think you might want the Honda OEM high brake light that mounts to the OEM rack... (for the love of god) do it along with the luggage rack install. It will be a hassle disassembly of the lid again to do add the OEM high brake light at a later time.

The luggage rack only comes in chrome from Honda. I had my rack locally powder coated in satin black for $50, to match the all black bike. If you go this route, be sure to thread the mounting bolts into the bosses when you drop off the project. Otherwise, the powder coat will be sprayed slightly into the open threads and not accept the bolt later. Then you have to tap the threads free of paint. Ask me how I know??

Max at Traxxion has a YouTube video comparison between the Honda rack and aftermarket. The Honda rack is a far superb product.
For my 2022 i am looking at the goldstrike black version it has lights on the rack and turnsignals.
