I just put my slab tire on the front for next weekend's ride to a Meet, Greet and Eat Saturday in Murphreesboro, Tn.

My current slab front is a replacement bias-ply for the Goldwing 1500, the Bridgestone 701. It has 5500 hundred miles of primarily slab riding with some mild backroads at a moderate speed.

The tread in the middle is 6/32nds, the same as a new 709. :yes1: Tread depth on the sides (at about 1/3rd) is 5/32nds. I'm pretty happy with this tire and the way it's wearing. The ride and handling is just fine under all normal riding conditions.

Just another alternative to the rear-bias-plys for front wheel applications. ;)

Have you ever tried this tire in the twisties to see how it would hold up?
Have not, Murgie. I'm trying really hard to keep it out of the mountains.

Because, the last two bias-ply rears I've taken to the twisties worked just fine, but, feathered really bad and wore out fast on the sides.

I suspect this would be the same, since it's also a dual-compound, harder rubber in the middle third and softer outside thirds.
