For those who are interested.I just checked my valves at 34,000 miles and every valve was good except for #5 intake which was .0005 tighter than specs.This is acceptable in my estimation.I will check it again in 20,000 miles.I believe one could go 50 to 60 thousand without ajustment,but I would still check them.You never can tell what they were when it was built.
I hope this helps some of you worry less. A .006 thousands gage went in tight and a .005 gage went in real loose. A word to the wise the valve springs are very light and you could compress them with a bigger gage.If you don't have "THE TOUCH" let someone who does do it for you. Thanks for the post. I'm getting close to doing it. Figure in another 5,000 would be about right. :)

I am probably in big trouble, I have 207k on the bike and have never checked the clearance... But it runs good and compression is good !!

JMHO 8)
