I need some advice from the riders back east, wife and I are planing a fall foliage trip if you had to pick ,what 2 weeks in late sept or oct would you pick? Im thinking frist two weeks of Oct I know some times the color can be early or late.We are going to used White River Vt as a base and do day riders out of there Vt& NH guys let me know what you think. Also what roads are a must ride

Did a NE trip back in 1999. VT 100 is a great road - runs N - S. If you are not afraid of heights, you can ride to the top of Mt Washington in NH.

You must ride Cankamaugus (sp) highway when in N. Hampshire!
Time of year is a coin toss but I would imagine end of Sept. into beginning of Oct. would be most likely the best for fall colors.

Here's a nice foliage map, shows when & where the peak foliage in New England is. The "Kanc" is a nice ride but it's short. As previous poster said check out Mt. Washington. It's beautiful but VERY windy some days and lots of fun on the bike. Also Hurricane Mountain Road if you like the twisties and a trip to Acadia National Park in Maine would be well worth the time. Haven't been there yet but everyone we've talked to about it say it's spectacular especially the view from Cadillac.

I am going to a Bike Rally in West Dover, VT August 8 - 12, 2011. Will be riding a lot of route 100.

You will love this road. It was paved over 2 years ago and is great fun in either direction

go to the New England Riders.com site they have all the best roads, restaurants etc. They have downloadable gps routes etc.
There is area of that site called BONES for best of new england you will have all the info you need.
