As far as the rainbow with polorized glasses, that happens with cars also. Sometimes it looks like small squares or hexes.
Thats what l like about this forum. I will be planning on getting a new windshield in the next year or so and now i know which one to get
understand about the hard coating causes the rainbow effect, but thew windshield flexs so much at speeds over 60 its distracting to look thur the rainbows.
Another thing I should mention about the V Stream is due to it's sculpture over the dash,I can't use it because I have a mount on my dash for my GPS that works fine just where it is..

I'm not about to buy another GPS Mount just to use a new shield..

I was under the impression that the V Stream is/was made 3/32 thick (like the Slipstreamer)..Instead of the 1.8 thick stock shield making the V Stream stiffer??..

It flexing above 60 pretty much solves my decision two fold..I could only imagine what it would do above triple digits?-No officer I wasn't speeding.:22yikes:
Cancelled my order yesterday. Ordered some new replacement chrome because of Hal's Spring Sale. Some of my chrome now is discolored with age. Plan on keeping the Wing for a little while longer and then more than likley buy the new Kaw tourer.

Nearly any laminated transparency will show rainbows with polarized glasses. Personally, I can't stand polarized glasses and I like rainbows (saw quite a few of them in the sixties).

Abysmal performance at high speeds was one reason I took off my Windbender after a single test ride. At 85, the wind actually ripped off my glasses (and, no, they weren't polarized).
I never wear polarized sunglasses on the bike because it prevents seeing the shine from oil slicks on the pavement. Works for me.
Just checked and the one I ordered is due on Friday. Was really excited after reading about how the manfacturer was delaying shipment to get it right. Will watch for more posts from those of you who install before me and will examine it closely before putting it on. One bad review is not enough to decide on.
I just got the V-stream for my 03 and its a lot better than the stock shield. The V-stream does wobble a little more than the stock shield , but I cracked the vent open and a lot of it went away. The wind protection is great. My wife and I ride together alot and we don't feel any buffeting. I think the V-stream looks great and performs very well. Im very happy with the shield.

Care to share anymore info--i.e. weather conditions, appx.rider height, vehicle operating speed(s), and position(s) of w/shield?

And how about some pictures.
V Stream Windshield Review

I installed the windshield yesterday. The wife and I took off this morning to cruise around Galveston to assess the damage from hurricane Ike and to test the windshield.
The windshield vibrates a lot more than the stock. It also makes little to no difference in altering the wind. The wife says she doesn't notice any difference either. I also have it as low as it will go, and it still flexes way too much. On the positive note, it does "look" cooler. That's about the best I can say about it.
Galveston still has a bit of damage to repair but at least they aren't like New Orleans (my hometown). Galveston is picking itself up, shaking off the mud, and rebuilding. New Orleans is still wallowing in the mud.
I noted the comment that... " New Orleans is still wallowing in the mud. "

From my experince of visiting N.O., I don't think it is Mud that you are wallowing in.

Harry.
Just installed my new V-Stream windshield today. Sunny 55 winds 5 to 10, I am approximately 5'9, SO 5'-6.
Looks much cooler than stock. Rode first most of the way down noticed significantly less buffeting than stock at 65 to 70, so did SO. Even at 75 ride was much better. Really, turbulence around my head not existent and I have a pretty big head! (Son says "bucket head") Did not notice that much flexing.
Raised it to full height and hit the big black top. at 80 much more flexing and when in traffic all the more. BUT! Much less buffeting than stock. SO noticed this saying "much better". Found that I enjoyed the high speeds much better with this shield.
This is the shield I have been looking for!:yes1::yes1: Two thumbs up for me and the SO. I know it flexes some at high speeds, but there is a lot of wind at high speeds!
As long as it holds up I am very pleased! :biker:
First three pictures are with shield all the way down, final two all the way up.

So right now it looks like it is a pig in a poke. Some like it some don't.
Thanks for the review, and the photos. It does look good on the bike. The flexing, is it more so on the left and right edges/tips of the V-Stream? Or is it the whole top of the windshield?

After reading some of the early reviews, I took a ride Saturday and closely watched my stock windshield, and I noticed alot of flexing on the top left and top right edges of the shield. Something I had not noticed before until I actually look for it. I can't imagine the V-Stream being much more.

Do you look over, or through, your windshield when riding?

Yes, it mainly flexes out on the corners. IMO no more than the stock one does fully extended. With it down I did not notice that much movement.
I ride with mine low enough to look over the top when one up, raise it higher when wifey is with me.

To each his own but if my wife tells me she notices a significant lessening of buffeting that is all i need! Gotta keep her comfy!;)
How does the height and width compare to the stock shield?
