I will be doing a trip this year in July to CA, OR, WA and ID. I will enter WA from Cascade Locks WA and travel North to Mt. St Helens. From here I will travel up to Burlington and then east through North Cascades NP. From here SE to Spokane and cross into ID. I will be camping when possible and would like to know of any side trips that would be interesting,

Thanks, Jim

Well Jim, if you have the time, just at the South end of Olympia kick West and ride 101 up the coast. Some of the most beautiful riding in WA, but this is riders heaven most anywhere. Take the ferry from Port Townsend over to Keystone, (bikes are 1st on 1st off), stop at Deception Pass a must see!!! hit hwy. 20 over the pass. Great KOA in Winthrop, take the upper 20 loop over to Electric City and stop and do the tour of Grand Coulie Dam. From there drop south to hwy. 90 then East to Spokane.
If you post to this board the day before you enter WA, you will likely have several "tour guides" escort you along the way. This is a great place to ride and I could spend weeks trying to show you all of it.
If you pm me with your mailing address I will sent you some WA maps and tour books.
Have a safe trip and don't forget your rain gear.

If you drop down from I-90, Spokane area to hwy 12 we could show you around some senic areas of the Palouse area then you could ride 12 over Lolo Pass to Montana.
PM me when you have made that decision.

In June I'll be riding to Washington . After a trip through Yellowstone I will meet in Missoula , with my sister , her hubby and my brother who lives in Spokane and ride back to Spokane via Lolo pass and the old spiral highway ,up 95 . The next day we'll all ride out hwy 2 then up to Grand Coulee dam and then down through steamboat rock SO , along banks lake, dry falls etc and loop na,k up to Wenatchee to hwy2 . From there we're going to run up Chiwawa river road to where we always went camping when we was growing up to dust my parents ashes.

From there I will continue with my wife to the coast where we plan to ride down 101 to redwood NP and onto other sites to see!

I haven't ate at Dick's drive in or Ivars in over 15 years.. We'll be stopping at both then down I-5 to Lacey for the night. the next day we'll run down the 101 and stop in Coos Bay for the night. your welcome to tag along ,although , I grew up in Washington and lived there for 39 years , not sure I need a guide?? lol
