In Phoenix, they were stealing the cast iron gutter grates and selling to recyclers.
Same in Detroit, manhole covers and drain covers. Public Works department had to start welding the darn lids on to stop the thieving. Of course, there are also times they do road work and forget to put the lids back on. End up with a big line of cars off to the side of the road changing the flat tires or waiting for a tow truck because they busted their axle(s).

We've even had thieves steal the street light poles. :wrong:

Crackheads will be crackheads. I think the recyclers should be held accountable for things like this.

Did you notice the blood stain on the ground just passed the hole? I guess they don't have helmet laws in China.
obviously even with a helmet there could b blood, what an awful thing to happen, becareful out there folks

This was the best part. Nice compassionate crowd!

The article said the guy suffered a broken jaw and a fractured skull...
