I ordered my rack today. I like this one from Goldstrike for the looks and it also looks to be lightweight and easy to clean around. I personally have no use for additional lights (the tail lights on these things are more like a car than a motorcycle) so the cost through Wingstuff is pretty decent.

That one looks pretty nice. I waffled back and forth, and just ended up having the OEM powder coated a stain metallic black that matched the paint. The Goldstrike would have saved a couple of bills.

Went for a 166 Mile ride today. Finally the temps here in central Utah were in the 40s. Left work early at 1:00 pm, so I could jump on the bike and go for a ride. Hadn't been on a ride since Presidents day weekend in February. Was fun getting out on the bike again. Had the XM volume up... Lowest temp was 37F up near Eureka, UT. Wore my heated top, and gloves.

Oil change and filters, final drive oil, new spark plugs. Borescoped the air filter (20k miles) and it is in good shape, so I will go for a while longer on it.

Nice weather this weekend, so riding is on the agenda.

MADSTAD is great; had one on my 2013 Victory XCT and loved it. I like it better on the GW than the F4 or the Klock Werks...it's wider and gives better coverage for upper arms and chest.

Add a new Arai helmet for ‘23 season. I’ll report back in with the 411 on it as soon as the weather warms up around the Bluegrass.

As for the Modern Gray paint, it’s a close enough match for our Deep Pearl Gray on ‘21 baggers

Coated the gray plastic pivot plate covers with black under-coating to match the plastic passenger floorboard inserts I did the other day. Also painted the silver screws with satin finish rust-oleum paint.

I installed the Goldstrike Tour Blade. Wired it all up and got ready to put things back together and that voice said do a check to make sure before installing the backrest…..

Just last week I helped a friend install a ton of Goldstrike and Pathfinder lights plus the Muth Mirrors. I was adamant he plug each light in before install….

Well wouldn’t you know that I failed to follow my own advice and discovered the brake function was not working. Turn signals and running light great but no brake function. I bench tested it after removal (that 3m tape was STUCK after an hour) and still all lights with the exception of the brake light worked.

Back it goes for a replacement. Shame because it really helps even though I have a Kury Trunk Rack.

Apparently previous owner didn't like gloss black so installed a flat black wrap - and poorly :/ 'All gone now
