Went for a ride out to the Border Inn (Utah, Nevada) border so my friend could put some miles on his new KTM.

His bike is brand new and he is trying to put some miles on it so he can do the first oil change. Temps for the ride were between 46-53F. There was snow in the mountain passes...

Heading back home before the sun goes down. Good thing it's the first day of daylight savings time....

I think my friend would have been happier if I had road my 2021 African Twin Adv Sports ES DCT, but.... I don't have the same wind coverage that I do on the Gold Wing. He was in the break in period, so I had to ride in front most of the time with the cruise control set at 70. He had to vary his speed, which when I was following him was a pain in the A$$. Finally I jumped in front and said I'm going 70, and you can speed up and slow down as much as you want. 200 mile ride Sunday 12 March, 2023.

What did I do on my Gold Wing today?? Backed her out of the Garage so I could take her friend out on a ride... She had to sit at the house while I took her friend (??) the 2021 Honda African Twin Adv Sport ES DCT out for a ride. I don't know how jealous she got, but the AT was wanting to go out for a ride.

Heading down the Clay Springs Gravel road back to US-50 and then home...

50 Miles on the AT today and she was glad to get out of the garage and finally go on a ride. She has been neglected since the other "Bike" showed up in her life.... Well anyway. Need to keep putting miles on both of them... 50/50 tires for the Gold Wing? Or Dark Side?

Went for a great ride today and stopped at Cascade Burger in Concrete for lunch. The sun was out and temps. were between 45 and 52*.

There was a movie that was made here some 30 years ago with a teenaged Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert DeNiro and Ellen Barkin. It's a true story and a pretty good movie called This Boy's Life.

I ordered my rack today. I like this one from Goldstrike for the looks and it also looks to be lightweight and easy to clean around. I personally have no use for additional lights (the tail lights on these things are more like a car than a motorcycle) so the cost through Wingstuff is pretty decent.

When I got home from my ride today my rack was waiting for me on the front porch, a day early! After wiping the bike down I got right to rippin' and tearin' all of the packaging away so that I could mount this sucker. It went pretty smooth. LOTSA DAMN SCREWS. Thank goodness for my electric screwdriver. I really like the looks and the quality seems top notch. I'm certain it will work as good as it looks.

I have family on the island, they want us to move out there, but sometimes things are easier said than done. Our last trip out there was 2 summers ago.

Rode to the Barber Motorsports Museum. Wow!

Collected my bike from 600 mile service, Sun was out. Changed to heavy rain, standing water, heavy stationary traffic on motorway/interstate so, did plenty of filtering.

I had front vent lights fitted along with front and rear fender extenders, front from Honda dealer, rear from Powerbronze. The Powerbronze lower wind deflectors kept my legs dry and look part of the bike. Accidentally deleted video of the amber turn signals on the vent lights.

Naturally, washed the bike!

Had new Bridgestones installed so ready for another 10K miles. Rode from dealership to a great BBQ lunch. Went home and updated the GPS, installed Madstad windshield and tomorrow is wash day to get ready for the new week.

It's always a good feeling to have new rubber on any ride. I hate spending the money but it still feels good 👍
