Keep seeing this show up - somebody please educate the clueless. That would be me... What does the term mean in a post (not about road conditions)...

Larry, the only "dumb" question is the one that's not asked.

"Bump" is simply a way to get a thread to the top of the board - you "bump" it up, so to speak.
