...... you gain more in the posing stakes as more folk can look and say "wow, that looks great, wish i could have one" hehe.

;)
But you forgot the bigee - you become a hands down winner in the, "I spent more than you did" contest.

And Doc1, no, we have no sales, luxury or excise tax in this state. Motorcycle registration is $15 per year. And, except for Portland, no Motor Vehicle inspection.

We have a pretty high income tax, and a property tax with a limit on it.

I did go up a 4 model years, but a trike is rated at a lower rate by my insurance company than a bike. When I questioned them about it, they said the lower claim rate of a trike more than offset the increase in value. Guess its because it is a lot harder to tip a trike over, doncha think?

One other thing this state has is service station attendents. No "pump you own" gas - just roll the window down far enough to pass out your credit card, and stay out of the rain.

But we have a fairly low population - the entire coast has a town of 2-5,000 about every 25 miles, half the state is National forest, only two freeways in the whole state (one to get from WA to CA, other to get from Portland to Idaho), a traffic jam is two cars at a stop sign, sometimes its a hundred miles between gas stops - yes, its rough, but someone has to do it.

IR Harry, thanks for the info and I was really envious for awhile there getting out of all those taxes but when you said a fairly high state income tax I lost my envy. Thats the main reason I moved to Florida in 93-- no state income tax and a reasonable property tax. I've never been to Oregon or Washington but I'm sure it is beautiful country. To me Florida is rather flat and drab in the southern part where I am but you can ride all winter (that's good). I'm getting anxious to head back north. Thanks for the info. Ride safe. Doc
You have to decide which way you will go, but I can tell you that my rig was done by Paul Shott at Misty Mountain and I have had no problems. He is a great installer.
Paul, the owner does a excellent job on building the trikes. He done my 05 in 2006 and I am very pleased. Are you getting from him or the dealer in Searcy, AR. If you like the 07 then I might just kit it, but for the same price a new one would not hurt either.

Howard
Ok IrHarry I'm not trying to spend any more then i have too:eek:4:, Just trying to make sure i have the right setup when i pull that rollahome:shock: and be safe with my SO on the back;) If we had more builders here in the area i would Just kit the 07,but like you said there's not a lot of people here in the area, More then I like but not enough to keep 4 or 5 builders in buisness// we do have Lehman builder here in Portland, but for some reson I like the sound of the CSC, and that may because on this site there are more CSC owners here.. but with HD putting the Lehman under their bike they may know somthing
I will go over and check out the wingmen
Wingman (Portland, OR) also builds Champion trikes in addition to Lehman.
I have no personal knowledge of their work - I have only bought parts from them.
Hit 115 once while chasing a Bull Dawg, but that was a two trips to Kerrville ago (which included two trips to Coopers, and two to the OST). I don't miss the MPH, but I do miss the BBQ and the chow at the OST. Can't wait until June when I get back in the area.
Hi Wheels,

What do you mean "YOU CAN'T WAIT UNTIL JUNE"....???
Does that mean you're not coming in April...???

We were so looking forward to seeing you and Nancy in April...!!!

 :doorag:
Trike the one you have. I did.

******* Biker,

I just read this post and I am not sure what you are saying but it kinda sounds like you could sell your current Wing for what you paid or buy the '09 CSC for what it would cost you to trike your current Wing?

Normally I would agree that you should trike your current Wing, but if you can step up 2 years to an '09 for the same price, why not do that?

And I don't say this because I think a Yellow CSC would be a great choice although I do think that...

*******, Going up a year model or two wont change the way it will pull the Roll-A-Home !!! When it is Triked that in it self will make it more stable with a load of any type. As far as cost goes a MT is one of the least costly, and has the On the Fly Air Ride system that can be adjusted with out stopping.

Not knocking Lehman, but what makes you think that HD knows something that the rest doesn't????? I think that Lehman started with the HD kits and has close ties with the powers to be there.
As you can see, I had the same problem although my bike was older. I triked my '02 (purchased in '01) with 18,500 miles on it. I put a '05 Motor Trike kit on it and now have 47K on the trike. It ran good as a two wheeler and great as a trike.

Depending on which level of '09 Wing you buy that is triked, there is a $3K difference in bikes. If you get 16K for a '07, you are doing well.... A CSC kit with the nice upgrades; brakes, adjustable shock, aqua shields, trailer hitch, etc, installed, will run you over $15K.

Price a '09 CSC from a dealer with tax, title and license with the options you wish and THEN make up your mind.

A top model Wing retails over 24K...yes, you can buy them for much less, but not more than 3K under retail.

Figure your expenses traveling to buy your '09 and the possible porblems of selling your present bike. I always figure in the cost of the "agravation factor".....putting up with some jerks wanting free rides, payment, etc.

JMHO Good luck.

Crating charges increased to $170.00 for orders with Ground Effects. Labor charges for installation not included.

So figure on about $17,000 for a nicely equipped CSC Cobra, Plus the price of the GL1800.

And then you will off course need Trike Wings, Wind Wings, Backrest, Hi-Way pegs, heated gear, CB radio, and lots of Chrome stuff. So plan on spending lots and lots of money
:money1::money1::money1::money1::money1:

And about $12500 for an equivalent MT minus the gas tank, Chrome wheels are standard.
It is still a, Let your pocket book be your guide thing.

Nothing bad about the CSC, but about $3000 higher.

Not everyone likes to squeeze the Buffalo till it "well you know", but I do :!:

Just my two cents. My CSC dealer friend told me last Friday that CSC has or is going to raise the kit price to $8195 or $8495 on his next order. I was not paying too much attention on the increase, but it was several hundred dollars.

If that is the case, I'm pleased I had mine Cobra'd last May. I am always looking for a way to save some bucks on "stuff" I want. ;)
That doesn't mean the dealer / installer has to pass the increase on to the customer. Times are tough. I'm a CSC dealer and haven't received any notice of an increase..........yet.
Well i see you guy’s have been hard at it today helping me out, I was off trying to come up with a way to pay for all this (pickup pop cans is tuff):wrong:
If there were more builders here in Portland it would be a lot easier and that’s why I’m looking at one already built, it sounds like the shop over in AK is a good shop
But If I take $16k and it looks like I can get a kit for about the 16k with a few option
The one I’m looking at they are asking 35k CSC cobra with up grade brakes plus
Travel $ 1000 so I would be in the new for 36k compared to 32K
So is the $ 4000 savings worth the two year newer trike, I have my roll-a-home priced Out that 4000 would almost pay for the trailer,
Now I just have to find a builder I do like the CSC Kit, Not that I have rode one but I just Like the way it’s built:joke:

*******,

You could come and look at my trike - since I am close by.

I don't let anyone ride it though!

I am embarrassed to admit - I bought my CSC sight unseen.

The free feedback on this forum was priceless.
FlashG

that would be great, to check it out,
Did you buy the bike finshed or did you have it built;)
It looks like the best thing to do is have the big blue built
Now just find a CSC builder,
