But you forgot the bigee - you become a hands down winner in the, "I spent more than you did" contest.
And Doc1, no, we have no sales, luxury or excise tax in this state. Motorcycle registration is $15 per year. And, except for Portland, no Motor Vehicle inspection.
We have a pretty high income tax, and a property tax with a limit on it.
I did go up a 4 model years, but a trike is rated at a lower rate by my insurance company than a bike. When I questioned them about it, they said the lower claim rate of a trike more than offset the increase in value. Guess its because it is a lot harder to tip a trike over, doncha think?
One other thing this state has is service station attendents. No "pump you own" gas - just roll the window down far enough to pass out your credit card, and stay out of the rain.
But we have a fairly low population - the entire coast has a town of 2-5,000 about every 25 miles, half the state is National forest, only two freeways in the whole state (one to get from WA to CA, other to get from Portland to Idaho), a traffic jam is two cars at a stop sign, sometimes its a hundred miles between gas stops - yes, its rough, but someone has to do it.
