I traded mt '03 Goldwing for a new 2012 last week and read were the rims are clear coated on my 2012.

Can they be waxed or just use soap and water with no waxing required?

Any Idea?

On my '03, I waxed my aluminum rims with mothers alum. cleaner but I don't think the 2003 rims were clear coated.
I just remembered the rag while cleaning turn black from the oxidation.

I had a '92 Ford Explorer with clear coated rims, and the coating on the rims peeled and turned
yellow like the old convertible cars with those plastic rear windows that faded and turn yellow with age.
I eventually had all four rims replaced under a big protest from Ford Motor Co.

I have a 2013 with 30k on the clock. I use car wash soap and water. According to Honda you cannot use any abrasive cleaners on the clear coat.
