The sand storms in Iraq were crazy! Literally walls of sand would move in...you would hit that and visibility could be less than 30-50ft and take driving speeds down to about 10mph. If you left your AC on (it got to 120+ In Iraq and Kuwait is about 150+ with tons of humidity) then the AC would suck all the dust through and cover your entire room in about 1/4 of sand.
The orange picture is what a sunny day sandstorm can look like. Usually they are pretty dark and the sun is blocked out...but some turned orange due to the sun shining through the dust/sand. Note: Do not try to take a video in a sandstorm...it kills your camera and it gets stuck in the open position due to sand in the gears...whoops!
The sand storms there literally coat everything.
I can only image the Middle East air filter change intervals on the Wings!
