Just picked me up a new JVC action camera and was looking for ideas on where to mount it for the best pictures.
I have a mount that clamps onto the windshield but I get to much flex and vibrations at higher speeds. Tried mounting to the dash but get to much vibration there also.

I have the same camera and I've tried different mounting systems and positions. My JCV Adixxion camera came with a couple of different mounts, one which I mounted to the right front crash bar which worked well for stability and had no vibration. The problem with the crash bar mount is that you cant reach the camera so you have to start it while not moving and stop it the same way. What I found worked best is this Pedco Utra Clamp camera mount that I clamp to my dash and it works great. It swivels in all directions and locks in place easily. Its also metal so when it clamps, its solid and don't flex like most of the plastic mounts. The metal clamp portion is vinyl coated so it wont mar the dash. I bought it from B&H photo online for 21.00 and I highly recommend it, its well worth it. Here's the link http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/239972-REG/Ultrapod_PD05020_Ultra_Clamp_Assembly.html . This is what it looks like. Also here's a couple of videos shot from the dash with the Pedco mount. Click on settings on the lower right hand corner of video to adjust resolution.

I also have this mount but get a lot more vibrations than what you did on your video. Is yours mounted in the middle or off to one side?

Thanks.

Its mounted off to the left side of the dash. I too had vibration movement in the middle of the dash from the dash moving ever so slightly up and down from road bumps. I mounted it on several spots on the dash, my left side seemed to be the most stable. I have the factory stock windshield on the bike.
