I'm curious which exhaust system is the most popular out there among GL1800 owners. I'm sure the OEM unmodified system will be the hands down winner, but lets find out what is the "next runner up" :?:

Comments about your system and your satisfaction level in all modes of riding would be interesting to hear.

Pictures of your exhaust system would be an added bonus.

I have a modified stock system using Pak-It Rak's "Dial-a-Tone" adjustable baffles, I currently have them fully closed (OEM sound level).

Now that I am back from most of my long distance trips this summer I may open them up 50% or so.

100% open (the baffles) sounded real nice but created too much drone at highway speeds. I run Showchromes turndown exhaust tips.

Hey Paul!

So out of or two whole votes, it's a split ticket!

Stock, nothing I like or dislike, just the way it is. Not something I feel I need to change, but I'm not like that anyway. Downturns maybe someday, but they'd would disqualify me from the antichrome club

Larry,

I think the antichrome clubs accepts exhaust turndowns, they are "Functional" chrome :!: :)

goofed i did change the ends
To me that still qualifies as a "Stock" exhaust at least as far sound tone goes. There are so many options now for exhaust tips, it wold probbaly be easier just to say "Stock" and then note in your reply which exhaust tip you have.

Stock with Big Bike Turn Downs.

I tried the loud pipe thing when I was riding cruisers. Got tired of that real fast.

I like the quiet power of the GL1800.

I did the stock modified. I sent the stock exhaust to the folks at VTXExhaust.com and they did a great job of modifing them. Without the baffles they sound like a high winding sports car and are quite loud. I run the baffles and I get a soft rumble. I don't believe we'll ever get them to sound like a 57 Chevy with glass pacs!!

My Torq Masters give my '04 Wing a deep, throaty Porsche-like snarl under acceleration and a somewhat muted, smooth exhaust note at speed.I packed up the stock mufflers in the Torq Master box and stuck 'em in the rafters........where they belong!
