after joining HRCA i never recieved renewal notice,s and i never recieved the tool kit for signing up ..after i noticed the web site has no "contact us" i realized how stupid i was for giving them my money..i NEVER deal with 2nd class company's or organizations that dont want to talk to you.my bad on that one..then i learned that my progressive ins.includes road side service ..and covers any situation..after i called HRCA they told me "ooops your policy has expired" what a great outfit eh..they could care less if you stay with them..IMHO i hope they fold.

Same with me. I had been a member for a couple of years and started with them in 2004. I didn't get a renewal notice so I've now been a member since 2007 instead of 2004. I didn't realize they had discontinued the roadside assistance until I got my new card. Last year for me.
I am also with progressive. Don't they only cover the first 30 miles of towing? Thanks
The only reason i had HRCA was the towing and that ended last Dec. I had gwrrra for 1 year as a comparison and let that go. Now I have towing through Geico for 75 miles (it was on the policy anyways).
Some updates for you GWRRA posters.

GWRRA has increased their towing distance from 50 miles on their package to 100 miles and includes everyone who has the package - not just the renewals.

AMA gives 35 miles towing when signing up with their auto-renewal $39.00 program. Don't know if that will remain after this "blitz" promotion though.

I haven't looked at the Honda plan yet since I let my HRCA membership expire - not even a "what happened" email or promo mail package from them. I guess they think the economic times is what is having a down turn in their membership. But you would think that ANYONE who had a GL, had been a renewing member for 4+ years, and only declined AFTER the towing package was dropped "MIGHT" have some suggestions of what mistake they made.

Oh well, HOOT was nice while it lasted, the Red Wing magazine lost it's appeal near the end anyway, and management not wanting to hear what the membership wanted seems like a loss for someone who deserved it.

The Honda plan: towed to the nearest honda dealer or suitable repair facility if it can't be strated, if you have a flat tie, if you lost/broke you key, or and accident or collision (unlimited mileage). OR you can select a specific Honda dealer or your home within 30 miles (if over 30 you pay the difference.
Also locksmith service, flud/fuel deliver, and extraction from with 50 yds of a paved road.
I stayed with GWRRA for the Towing/RoadSide Assistance. It's most of the cost of the membership anyway. I'm letting my Honda Riders Club expire, I already got the $75 rebate on the MSF rider course they offered.
:lol::lol::lol:

As a "former" one of those guys but a DARKSIDER who pulls a TimeOut camper and hates CHROME............ There I set the table for more whiners. :lol::thumbup:

I have probably the best towing for my Wing and all my vehicles through the Good Sam Club.

I think maximum tow distance is 200 miles, roll on / roll off for bikes and from what my wife the smarter of the 2 of us read ya do not have to go to the closest facility.

Just somethin' for those interested to read up on. So now I'll go ride my Wing. :thumbup:
