I have a chance to buy a nos windshield from an 04, but want to put it on an 05. I looked up the part numbers in the parts fiche and find that there were two different shields offered in 04 and only one offered in 05. However, all three of them have different part numbers. Have any of you put an 04 windshield on an 05? Any issues if you did?

The shields from '01 through '10 are interchangeable.

OEM and aftermarket, too.

Windscreens prior to 2006 (I think)had the vent as an option. That may be why you're two different part numbers.

I just doubled checked the part #'s at this site and all windscreens from '04 through '10 have the same part # (64100-MCA-A21).



Actually, all windscreens from '01 through '12 are interchangeable. I.e., they will fit. I know because I put an '04 windscreen on my former '03, and that same '04 shield is on my '10 ... perfect fit. The only difference is:

1. The '01-'03 didn't have a vent;
2. The '04'-'12 have a vent; and
3. The '12 is made by a different supplier (more scratch resistant).

In addition, the windscreens used to be held on by 5 mounting slots ('01-'02). From '03 on they were only held on my 3 mounting slots. Honda must have realized that 5 mounts was overkill. Regardless, they are all still interchangeable.
