A friend buys a taller aftermarket windshield, and it won't
move down from the top position. Takes it back to the dealer
and they tell him, that's because the screen is too thick,
1) How can they sell taller adjustable screens if you can't
ajust them?
2) Is the dealer telling him chit?

for an alternative, IIRC the Honda tall windshield is adjustable, but you might want to check before purchase....

I have a 2009 GL18 with the F4 +4 windshield. Installed when the bike was delivered to my door with 1 mile on it. Now have almost 12K. I run it almost all the way down riding solo and all the way up when I have a passenger. (by the way, no scratches and I use Windex and paper towels).
Pictures of stock windshield all the way up and F4 windshield all the way up.

Dealer is correct. Some windshields when mounted are not adjustable. The thickness does come into play also.

Hope this helps

Most of the aftermarket stuff sold for GW's I wouldn't put on them. Usually, there are unexpected trade offs. When ever possible, even when I don't like the design, I stay with the Hondaline products. Rear passenger armrest are an example of not liking the Honda design, but those are the ones I get.
