Well I dropped my GL1800 off the jack today and broke the windshield.

Now I need to purchase a new windshield.
1. Had a Cee Bailey which was OK but their service sucked and I had a lot of swirl marks.
2. Had a Tulsa tall and thought it looked dorkey and was not pleased with it.
3. Windbender is too expensive although I like the Idea.
4. The F4 sounds neat but have read some negative reviews about them.
5. Anyone have the Clearview Windshield?

So I'm open to suggestions from your experience with different windshields.

What's wrong with replacing it with another stock windshield? If you weren't unhappy, it's probably the least expensive option.

Could you elaborate on dropping the bike off the jack:eek:4::eek:4:. This could help newbies who never lifted the winngabago bike before.

f4

I have been using a f4 for at least 3 years on 2 different bikes and would say it is a whole lot better than the 2 oem or the cee bailey that i had before i got the f4. I have the +4 and would not think twice about buying another if I broke it,also, I have been told that the f4 will bend 90 degrees without breaking.JMHO mdh

I have f4+4 and have had tulsa extra tall. both are good shields and f4 is very convenient to clean. I won't get another w/s with a vent.

I have a clearview + 4 w/vent. Love it.
6' but only 30" inseam. At it's lowest, I can see over it, at it's highest, it shields me very well from the wind as I look thru it.

I had a runin with a raccoon and I can attest that an F4 will break, but it's designed to break FORWARD just like the rest of the upper front end. I broke along the holes where it mounts so I would consider that the engineered break point for safety.

Instantly replaced with another F4 +4. Best one out there.

I have a Clearview +4 tinted, vented, and fully adjustable. I would buy another:lol::lol::lol:
I have the same shield. Excellent clarity, can use rainx, adjustable, great customer service. Order soon because when summer comes you will need to wait 6-8 weeks.

My mistake was just jacking up the front end and leaving the rear wheel on the ground. I also did not use my safety straps. I was being lazy and just elevated the front to change the spark plugs.:eek:4: It started to fall over and luckily I was on the other side of the bike and once it starts to go over I have learned to not try to stop it. I like my back the way it is and stopping 900 lbs is not great on the back.:22yikes: I'm just greatful that all I did was snap the windshield. I also stripped the bolt on the Kuryakin footrest. (They wanted $41 to replace the bolt that I replace at Ace for $1.268):wrong:

Thanks, glad you was not in the line of fall. I almost dropped mine off the sears type jack the first time I used it, from not knowing how to position it. I also let her lay on her side the first week after taking it off the center stand without sitting on it. No stopping her once she starts her decent.

I still have the stocker. I like the stock size. I see riders getting on their bikes with the LONG shields and it looks like a barn door to me. I ride and want to look over the shield, no buffeting but I wear a Shoei or Arai Full Face helmet. Use what you like. If Honda doen't come out with a new model soon I may need to replace my shield. Probably with a Clearview, F4 or Tulsa stock length and with a vent the greatest invention to date for a shield. To each his own preference on shields.

The f4 is my third windshield for this bike and like it the best. The customer service is excellent as they had to replace 2 for me, the first one cracked do to defective materal that they recieved, and the 2nd one had a distortion flaw in it. They replaced them immediately and promptly. That said, I like the ease of cleaning, windex and paper towel, and the clariety. I went with the unvented because being short and raising the windshield put it in my field of view. I'd go with the F4 again.
