We've got a "one of a kind" Goldwing now. After almost 30 years of painting all kinds of motorcycles, our request to paint a "Wingnut" was a first. As most of you know, Scarecrow is considered by many, as the #1 freehand painter in the nation. I also did something, that no one else has ever done. I took two of my ties with us, & asked him to match the colors. He did an awesome job, & it turned out great. Here's 6 pictures, of our "new" wing.

Paint

Hi Wingnut - I have a question. I had some graphics painted on my wing
a couple of years ago and I love it. I don't know how to do pictures but
it is very tasteful (I think) Christian work done by Sue Hopper. My
question is this - When it is time to trade will it hurt the trade-in value?
I was told that it can be removed with oven cleaner. Is that true?

By the way - your bike looks great.

A personalized bike, i.e. last owners names, might be a problem. I too, have heard that Easy Off takes care of the situation.

easy off oven cleaner (yellow can) will take the stripes off you may have to leave it on for a little bit to soften them up. also if a hardener was used you will have to buff the clear coat as the hardener gives the paint more bite and you might see ghosting in the clear coat.

Congrats "Wingnut" & Carol.

Problem that I have found with these Wings, is that just about the time you get it where ya want it, Ya buy a new one. That has been my case anyway..

Enjoy!

at least you can remove the gas door and its not an issue anymore at sale time

thats not much of an expense to have the bike back to generic again

 Looks Good! Nice to see how folks customize their rides - you can about figure if it is more than a couple hours off the showroom, they reflect the owners personality.

Gotta have the right buyer, the folks that bought mine loved Sue's artwork.. Even with Easy Off the outlines will still be visible because of paint fade..
