"Wingstock" is now about 4 weeks out.

For the catered BBQ Saturday night, Max at Traxxion will need an approximate head count. If y'all are like me, it's probably a little early to commit one way or the other.

Just wanted to let you know that I'll be asking folks who can make it to let us know about 2 weeks out. So check your schedules and tell your boss you want a couple days off. Check back in a couple of weeks and let us know. I'll post something you can respond to then.

There has probably been 20 or so who posted thay will be here for sure. Should be a good time. Hopefully Dan (DDKing) will be there as the guest host.

If you don't know what we'll be doing, there are a couple of posts that refer to the event.

Is too :p

I have been told by 2 co-workers I MUST get to the southern part of
Atlanta by 3:00 pm or else suffer. The wife has to work until 10:00am
the morning of the departure. If we can hit the road by 10:30, I think
I can make it to Atlanta by 3:00-3:30.

Or yeah, these co-workers told me it would actualy be better to take
the I-75 straight through Atlanta then I-285 around it. What say you(s)?

It's a crap shoot usually, but I come around it from work many days off of I-85, and it it not too bad for too long barring an accident. If Iwas coming thru I'd take 285. ONce you get back on 75 it could be bad, but you'd hit that part coming from either way.

There are of course other ways but they are full of lights.....more direct, but could be longer time....."depends on traffic". Hyw 140 (Jimmy Carter Blvd...go west) off 85.......turns into 92.....takes you just south of Traxxion a few miles at 575. A straight shot pretty much. If youcome thru before 4:00 should be fairly clear on 285.

Good luck......we got some crazy bondheads on these roads.

Listen to a.m. 750 for traffic and cb channel 19. I'd go right up I-75 to I-575; watch the signs. I-85 shares 75 for a bit.
If you're talking about Friday, the traffic starts at 3:00 rather than 4:00 pm. If you're coming up on Thursday, your plan is good.
I-575 is exit 268; get in the right lane early, around exit 265, and avoid the commuter panic. There's a feed right there before the exit and it's hellish.
Once you get past exit 8 on I-575 it's like another planet.

Sorry I'm confused....you coming in on I-85 from the NE or I-20 fromthe East. Or 75 from the south? I don't know where Bluffton is?

If 75.. no 285 .....if 20, or 85 I'd take 285.

He will be coming from the Hilton Head area. most likely, he will pickup I-16 to I-75 Macon,ga
About traffic in Atlanta, going into Atlanta will not be bad until you get to downtown (I-75/85 area) it will start getting bad as the times goes after passing downtown connector (I-75/85) northwards towards Marietta for about 15 -20 miles
This time of week ,when everyone drives on Fridays makes it like a mad house around atlanta on any road. Sometimes you thinking you are driving Road Atanta race track.
That's why I moved from there in 96 when I lived in Woodstock area ,off exit 3.
ride safe

Yep, Fridays are the "fastest". I'd stay on I-75/85 (connector) thru town and then take 75 just on the north end of town......from the right lanes BTW....odd but true! Or you can use the HOV it goes 75 and 85 from the left (HOV) lane.....easy transition. Heck that might even be the safest lane as well, as 99% of the folks will be "one up" in the cage and can't use the HOV. Expect slow traffic thru town....but you got no alternatives really.

Be careful, ride safe.
