Also .... if you have an OEM clutch lever, and it has about or more then 3/8" up and down movement, the pivot pin is probably worn and needs replaced.

You can also have this problem if you change the OEM levers to the chrome Kuryakan levers. I will be changing mine back to stock.
I'm not a fan of the aftermarket levers. Because of their add'l weight, and poor bushing tolerances, they all eventually cause problems. Actually, even the OEM ones will ... the aftermarket levers just sooner.

On my 2007 with 128k, I'm sure I am on my 3rd clutch lever. I just replaced it again the other day, and my levers are lubed every 8k ... probably far more often then most. Besides the pivot pin beginning to pit, and gaulling, the brass bushing gauling too, and the boot wearing out that protects the back of the m/c, so does the pivot contact surface of the m/c it self. Mine is now that way. The next time I ride to work, I'll be replacing the m/c because of "excessive surface wear," and the slave cylinder too as PM. I'm do for my brake and clutch fluid change, anyway.
