Has anyone had any luck removing the actual Honda heated rubber grips and leaving the heated part and replacing them with the Kuyakyn ISO grips without wrecking the oem heated part ? Part ? part ?

Aww come on you know what I mean :? :)

Hey Strider,
I just took the Honda heated grips off my 07 and replaced them
with the larger diameter Honda Chromed heated grips.
(Yeah, I know, way overpriced).
Anyway, I didn't inspect the inside of the original grips but I don't think
they are made so the heater part could be easily removed to use separately.

I thought the consensus was the heating element was cast into the rubber of the grip. Not a separate component.

Rats  I was thinking that might be the case , here's another question then .
If I bought a set of larger dia grip and slipped them right over the originals with a bit of shaving ? I think Harley grips have a larger inside diameter , no :?:

since no one has replied
there is a company that makes foam grips that will slip rite over your stock heated grips and they only cost about $10, several folks on this board have reported being very happy with them
i tried to find the company but no luck, thought it was something like Griptek, maybe someone else knows ?
