The infamous slam: The Goldwing is an "old man's bike." Let's settle this, we'll see.

I was in my 30's when we purchased the Goldwing, but I am in my

Bought my first GL1200 Wing at the age of 25 or 26 in 1984 and have been a "Winger" ever since. I will be turning 49 this year, am I an old fart? Some days yes, some days no!

A lot of folks want to make a point whether the Goldwing is an older person's bike. IMO, it has to do with the finances that one achieves upon reaching an older age. How many dark haired people do you see stepping out of a Ferrari Testarossa, or a Murchielago or any one of those wonderful exotic machines?

Come on guys! Most of us now are fortunate enough not to have the size wallet that we once did when we were in our twenties or thirties, at a time when we were just starting a family.

Of course there are the exemptions to any rule, but for the majority of us it's the spendable cash that we once just didn't have.

Most days I feel older than "I" think I look but most folks I know well disagree and tell me the other way 'round is probably closer.

30 years old with 33 years prior experience.
Only as old as you feel. Most days that is "young" some days, "old".

But I was in the 20-30 year old bracket when I started riding Wings. Doesn't that count for something?
