I thought I would share since some of you know that my better half and I ride 2 up almost 99% of the time and have been doing more and more LD riding over the last few years. We have done a lot of traveling by motorcycle over the 25 years that we have been together. Including three trips to Alaska and many more all over the western half of US and Canada.

We have two 2006 Goldwings. One is black Base model Comfort audio, and the other is a white Navi non-airbag model. We have had the black one for about 3 years now, and recently bought the white one from a friend's estate after he passed way last November. We also have gotten more and more into riding multi-day rallies. I have been modifying the black one to get it where it suits us for rallying. I spent the last 3 months setting the white one up identically for rallying too. I realize, not many people want to do 1000+ mile days for several days in row, but we enjoy getting out and seeing the country while doing rallies or just to go see somewhere.

We are headed out this weekend to do a shake down BBG 1500.

I'm totally impressed! Are your sure you're not Zackybilly reincarnated! Very interesting mods. The fact that you ride two-up forced you find a new way to add some things, such as the auxiliary fuel tank and the dual water jugs. Keep us posted!

Our first date was to the Motorcycle show. Motorcycling is a central part of our lives with many, many long 2-3 week trips all over. We call it "our" time. The rallies have taken us to places that we never would have considered going to.

Is that an Ipod holder for your wife?
iPad holder.

While I am breaking down the rally packet and getting it entered into Basecamp, she takes the electronic copy of the rally book and screenshots each bonus location and files them in a folder for the rally on her iPad. As we get close to the bonus, she will pull it up and read what exactly we are supposed to do and then leave it open for me to look at when I take the picture (she has to be in the pictures with the rally flag) and compare to make sure we got it right. Then we log it. She pulls up the next location as we leave to review what we are doing next. It took our average stop at a bonus from 12-15 minutes to 3-5 minutes. The rally is not a race, but it is about being efficient and keep the bike moving.

There is a USB 3.0 and USB C plugin under the arm rest that she plugs into to charge her iPhone and to keep the iPad charged. I also have here heated gear controller mounted under the arm rest too.

I am very fortunate that I have a better half that loves to ride as much as I do.

That much extra water coupled with that much extra gas seems? Seems like one cancels out the other. If I drank that much I wouldn't be able to make it through a regular tank.

Nice setup. Next level stuff right there.

I miss the good ole days when people would purchase a motorcycle and ride it till the wheels fell off.

Wow!
I might be a bit confused as your post says you have outfitted the black one for extended range riding and the pics seem to show the gorgeous white one.
If the black one is outfitted more extremely than this it must be quite the bit of work.

WOW!! Well, I put foot rests on my bike, (does that make me a long distance ride'rrrr)

I’m well on my way, I just installed my grip puppies this week! I don’t expect to ever get in as deep as you are but I will refer back to this thread often to glean ideas.

All I can say is that you are extremely fortunate to have a wife as dedicated to riding as you are. Don’t take her for granted, they’re like unicorns.

Ipad, thats what I meant. Great idea. Does she down load her shows top watch also in between stops?
no, but does use it to look up hotels and call ahead for reservations once we know where we are going to be that night.

Very nice rig you have Auburn !
Have you ever been hassled by law enforcement about your taillights being somewhat blocked ?
Or any of your extra front lights possibly Blinding other drivers ?
no, because the ones above are stop/tail, and the wing has integrated stop/tail and turn signals
