Aluma MC1F, anybody towed a wing with one?

I know that Aluma MC10 trailers are popular here and work well with a wing but what about the folding version of the same trailer, the MC1F? It is slightly shorter with a slightly narrower ramp and of course it folds so you can store it in your garage.

Has anybody used one, and if so, can you give us a review on its performance including loading your bike.

Thanks in advance:thumbup:

I have a MC1F. I tow my Wing to Florida (850 miles each way) twice a year. The ramp is too narrow (no place to put your feet down) I made 2 ramps out of 2x8 lumber and put one on each side of the trailer ramp. I also added a "Condor" wheel chock.

When the trailer is folded and stored up, It is almost 8 feet. If you ceiling is 8 feet, it will fit. However it will not clear your garage door opener(s) or light fixtures.

The trailer weighs about 350+ lbs Need assistance tilting trailer down.

It is an excellent towing trailer

Thanks Art.....that is what I was looking for. If you had it to do over would you get the MC10 or the MC1F? I have a utility trailer that I use now with a condor chock but it is not really suited to trailering the wing due to its height. I currently pay storage off site to store it because I can't store it in my neighborhood. The 1F sure would be nice to just fold and store in my garage but a wider ramp would be nice like the MC10.

I had my mind made up on the MC10 but now rethinking the MC1F.

I have an Aluma 5410T. It is quite low and since it tilts there is no narrow ramp. It weighs 280 lbs. I towed it from Canada to Yuma, Az and it tows fine. With a cheap chock to hold the bike up one person can load secure the Wing. I think I'll throw away the tires as there is a vibration that shows up at 75 miles per hour even after having them balanced. Car tires will be the solution.

I looked at that one too but, if I can't stand it up and put it in the garage, the MC10 with the self stowing wide ramp with a condor chock looks like the ticket......just takes up a lot of space when not being used.

I chose the mc1f due to no place to store a trailer. A non- folding trailer would take up too much garage space. Folded against the wall the trailer is 3 feet deep.

I compared the Aluma to others. The Aluma has a "Dexter" torsion axle (no leaf springs), easy lube hubs, a rock shield, mag wheels, & LED lights as standard. Also the corrosion resistance of Aluminum. (checked website it is 380lbs, has a 1300lb capacity)

Yeah, I'm coming around to your way of thinking...... I like it!

Just a thought, but might why don't you ask the manufacturer about the folding version with the ramp from the standard one, or some other form of wider ramp? The worst they can do is say, "Nope!"
The ramp stores in a slot under the trailer, a larger/wider ramp will not fit.

It's difficult to find a place that will rent a motorcycle trailer "one way"
I have some friends that used to go to school in Utah. When they would head home for the summer they would find a CHEAP horse trailer and recondition it into a cargo trailer. They frequently did this for less than $200. Then tow it home and sell the trailer. When Fall rolled around they would simply stuff the car VERY full and return to school. Paid for many trips that way.
