So as a solution they put it off 6 weeks? Coming from downstate it's too risky unless we can get cleared as non-carriers real fast. Not sure what's up with NJ, Ct. and Mass. residents, high risk states (i.e. infections have not plateaued). These account for a high proportion of the attendees.
The letter on the site makes the whole thing sound real awkward and makeshift. What it doesn't mention is how many vendors backed out, how much of the town will be open and what the summer rates at the motels will be. It's high season, after all.
Americade in masks with hand-washing and distancing? Really? I think they'll be sorry.
Hope I'm wrong, but this would have been my 22nd year.

The motel I‘be stayed at for over 20 years, is booked solid for that week. They can’t accommodate any Americaders. Plus room rates are quite higher, height of their season. I have to find a different motel. July was a bay choice the AMERICADE Organization

with no vaccination available, would you really want to take the risk of being in large crowds at the convention center? Would you like to walk on Canada street with the large crowds?
I'd rather ride solo or four other bikes on some road trip instead of Americade. There will be another Americade in 2021 after a vaccination has been developed. I can wait

I too have been going for more then 20+ years....I have already paid for the 2020 season, BUT like you said that this will be prime season, NOT sure what were going to do if the rates go up for rental property for the week............."** Thinking about passing for this season** ...There going to give us back our deposit minus 5% ...How many other vendors will not be going as well?? Plus all the demos?? I have a feeling (and of course I may be way off with my feelings) that this just may turn into a horrible season for the Cade crew.......I'm sad!

Well, the house on the lake that we always stay at, HAS BEEN ALREADY been RENTED FOR THAT WEEK, [just received the bad news this morning] so I guess that I'm not going this season 😭

I'm wondering how this will affect the vendors too. Will they all come or will some drop out? The ones that show up, will we be in a better bargaining position for purchases? How about the demos, will the same amount of manufacturers be there? Harley wasn't even there last year, curious to see how this plays out. I'm still planning to attend but I might trim a day off the itinerary.

Last pandemic that we had back in 1918 lasted 3 entire years. Even if/when this one does end, most will fear ever going close to a crowd for years. I think the days of Americade and similar are pretty much done, but I hope I'm wrong.

If Americade happens I will take the ride up as I do every year and walk the Vendor area. A bunch of us ride up every year just for the day (were only 200 miles away in CT) I feel if the Vendors will make the effort to show up the least I can do is ride up for the day and support them. I buy something, most times multiple somethings, each year.
As a small business owner myself I feel If I don't support them they won't return for the next year then Americade will just slip away.
We need to support our Vendors and Local Dealers.

I live in Springfield Mass. How close do you come to Spfld. when you ride down for the day??

They should just cancel Americade and all motorcycle rallies for 2020...and cancel summer vacations where lots of people will be. Im not going to be in any crowds in 2020...movie threaters, bars, restaurants, beach towns,or any tight building with people are going to be very risky in 2020...better to just ride on back roads and stay away from people for the rest of 2020..maybe into 2021

usually go up 22 to Salem then cut over on Rt 30 through Hebron then that takes us over to 40 north for a mile to catch 149. Nice ride. From the Loves truck stop on I-90 all the way to LG Vil, I believe there are only 3 traffic lights. Takes a little longer than the slab but its worth it.

I would guess it depends on where the revenue actually comes from for the Event. I think if the Event makes more money on the one day folks like me that show up, pay the entry fee to walk the Vendors and eat, all staying within the "Americade Event" then "Americade" will do what it can to reschedule. If "Americade" makes more money on the week long folks there may be a problem.
Just my perspective.

I think most motels are booked for that week, and Americaders won’t be able to find rooms. Have to wait till next year.

Yea! Been going to the Cade for over 20+ years, (I'm sad) that it's been postponed till July.......Can't make it then, so I have to send my request for my deposit back...Plus the house that we stay at has already been rented for the new Cade week............... I just read that Laconia Bike week has also been postponed till August 22-30 so every bike rally that I had plans to attend this season has either been canceled or postponed........... (n) 😭

JMHO...
I'd be surprised if Americade is held at all even with the new July dates.

Locally they are even talking about canceling events in August and September time period.
Until there is a shot for this crap, it's going to be a sad situation for events with mass crowds.

Why anyone would want to go to NY right now is beyond me...they still are getting 1000 new cases a day...my state is still getting new cases everyday...now they are saying it can spread from 15 ft away...just doesnt make sense to be in any crowds or even be thinking about a motorcycle rally in 2020....better to just be happy with riding alone on back roads and be happy with that.

NYC does not mean NY. There may be 1000 cases in the city but the rest of the state is not affected as much.
That being said, I go for the ride, not the crowd. It is a great area for motorcycling. Columbia County is where I live, Warren County is where Lake George is
