Works good. Just make sure you use a heavy duty thick plastic bag 😁

Moderator alert on: Usta know me an ole gal that liked to do it that way. Moderator alert off.

I agree with Red, when the soapy water dries the grip pupply will be almost like it is glued in place.

When I was a kid of about 15, I'm now 75. My father taught me to put Brake Fluid spread on the inside of the grip and it would slide ride on. The brake fluid was mostly alcohol and would evaporate and the grips would be tight.

My father taught me to put Brake Fluid spread on the inside of the grip
Pretty cool how we learn things from our fathers that we remember and use through out our lives isn't it. I'd be scared of using brake fluid because knowing me I would drip it on something  . When I was in the Navy our ship went out for a short month or so cruise for something (most were NOT short). When we got back someone had poured brake fluid all over one of my shipmate's cars, he knew it was brake fluid because they conveniently left the bottle there. It looked like it just dissolved the paint off the car where the fluid sat. Close to 40 years ago but I still think of that every time I work with brake fluid.

This looks okay, but pulling the bag off could be challenging.
I found a YouTube that I followed with SUCCESS. Use ZIP TIES instead of the bag. Shove the puppies with zip ties inside over the handgrip Then, pull the zip ties out one-at-a-time once the Puppies are in the correct position. I admit I used just a bit of soap on my grips before sliding the Puppies into place; makes the grip ties slide on smoothly and easily.

I used canned hairspray for years with grip puppies. But it's getting a bit hard to find the stuff now days. May go the hand sanitizer route in the future.

Contact Cement
You have one chance to get it right but those Puppies ain't gonna slip. Make sure the fitment is right before applying the cement to both surfaces. Tape off any surface that might get cement on it. Work quickly while the cement is still wet (lubricant). I tried some of the other methods mentioned here and had the puppies eventually slip when rotating the throttle. When it comes time to replace, cut the old puppies off.
