I have this exact setup. Actually have two Neotec2's. One with the SLR2 and another with the SLR Mesh. I don't have an issue with the boom mic getting in the way of the modular. Sometimes, but not often, it will catch but it's an easy solution to pull the mic in a bit. I keep the mic as far away as possible and don't have an issue. Nice combo!

 

I have the same setup and the mic is no problem getting the helmet on and closing the front section. You may have to move it slightly sometimes.
I sometimes have to move the mic out toward the front when closed to keep it from touching my lips/face, having it touch my face bothers me.
I used to have the Neotec 1 with a 30K Sena and that setup worked pretty well also. The only things I don't like about the SRL Mesh over the 30K is not being able to charge it off the helmet and the SRL battery so far seems to not last as long.

 

Another ditto. I move the Mic close when closing the face shield then tight to the chin bar once closed. Mine will sometimes overmodulate if I leave it close to my mouth.

Move mic so I can barley kiss it (places it in best position for voice)
Close the lid (if I want to)

 

You may want to "hold off" with buying the Neotec2...The Neotec 3 has been released in the UK, the the Neotec2 should be on sale shortly here in the USA.

 

May also be able to get a Neotec 2 at a cheaper price when the 3 comes out. I do understand though the SENA units are not the same, thus are not interchangeable between the 2 and 3, so something to consider as well.

 

I have a bit of an issue with the flexible chin guard hitting the boom mic when shutting the helmet, but I just removed the flexible guard and no issues. I personally remove that guard on all my modulars as I find them unnecessary with a windshield.

 

I have a neotech 1 with sena 50 but looking probably in another year and wondering if the neotech2 and 3 will fit me the same and what is the difference. Can i transfer the sena 50s to the neotech 3 when i buy it

 

The Neotec 3 uses an entirely new version of the built-in Sena Comms unit

 

The other disadvantage of the SRL is you cannot charge while you are using it. I try to remember to shut it off and charge it if I stop for awhile to take a break. I carry a rechargeable battery power pack to recharge the SRL.

 

We just bought two Neotec2 helmets. We already had Cardo Packtalk Bold headsets so I installed them. They installed easily and the mic doesn't in the way.

Just a side note, the Cardo Palktalk can be charged while in use.

 

I have NeotecII but, not the integrated comm system...too cheap to spend additional @$250 when I already have 2 comm systems.

I(we) mounted my Cardo Freecom2 on my NeotecII and works just as good as any modular helmet brands we own.

My wife didn't like the way NeotecII fit, so she's using her old modular helmet and don't want a new @$700 helmet that hurt her forehead.🙄

No problems with mic or wind noise. I would suggest you wear ear plugs though. Also, replace the foam cover with larger one if there too much wind buffeting noise.

 

While I dont have any issues with the mic getting in the way, my wife however does. I have to remind her every so often as the mic gets pulled somewhere where it is picking up a LOT of wind noise and/or I cannot hear her when she is talking. Some of this is learning curve but I prefer to leave the mic touching my lips, and she hates it touching. I do adjust the placement every time when I put it on since it has a flexible boom, but I would not be surprised if I am slowly putting extra wear on the boom over time for it to eventually fail, but so far so good after a year since changing from the SRL to the SRL mesh

 

Thanks for everyone's input, it helped with our decision, we are getting the Neotec 2 Winsome graphic design in white and grey. Now to decide where to get them, probably Revzilla or Cycle Gear. Thanks again Y'all

 

look on shoeis website, they have dealers that will do a personalized fit and they claim itll be about perfect and can adjust even for head shapes. were taking a drive next week to get ours done. its called shoei pfs (personalized fit system)

 

Everyone has already posted relevate info. Neotec 2 are great and on sale, Neotec 3 should hit USA later in the spring. I originally bought the SRL but battery life issues forced me to a Mesh 50s. I don’t have any issues with mic placement. If installed correctly the 50s Harmon Kardon are like heaven to listen to.
