They mostly have their hearts in the right place. I just don't agree with the second guessing they do. I represent folks accussed of doing harm to children. I represent parents who are accussed of not properly taking care of their children. I represent children who have been taken out of the home. They will not intimidate me nor will I let them intimidate my clients. I have objected to their presence in court and so far anyways have been able to exclude them from my cases in their regalia.

No One is for child abuse.

That being said they do some good PR work for bikers in general and the community.

Like most groups, I suspect there are some good and bad examples of membership---I'm sure they do good things for the cause they serve, but my only experience with them has been a little negative...for some of the mardi gras parades I attend, there is a viewing stand that is populated by baca members...there's a whole lot of foul language eminating from that area, words that no child should be exposed to, as kids walk up and down the street in front of them.

As all things, a select few will ruin conceptions for the whole, but that's my experience with them as of late.

It's not about you, it's not about me. It's all about the kids.

I am a patched BACA member of the Weatherford Texas CrossTimbers Chapter. I ride a 08/09Hannigan Goldwing trike all the time. If you are interested in the group, attend some meetings. If serious, fill out your paperwork so that a NCIC background check can be done. We are interested in protecting the child from further harm from perps. We work to restore some of the trust taken from them by various skum bags who have abused them. We go to court to protect and sit with the kids so they are not afraid to get on the witness stand and point to the perp and tell their story.

I won't give up, shut up, let up, until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up, and showed up for all wounded children. I must go until I drop, ride until I give out, and work till He stops me.

1. What do you check for with the NCIC?

2. Would a felony charge and/or conviction preclude membership?

3. What's the relationship between BACA and say the COC and 1%/outlaw clubs?

Asking, as I am interested, but I can't affiliate with numbers 2 and 3.

Thanks,

BACA and PGR

I've ridden with BACA members on several PGR missions. I've found their members to be first rate people interested in protecting children. How can that be wrong? I would encourage you to attend a meeting to see if the committment is one you want to make. These guys and gals are serious about protecting kids. The Goldwing will not be a problem.

Thank you for all your comments. I know there is a chapter that meets within a few miles of my residence here in Oklahoma. I will attend at least one of the meetings soon and from what I know they seem like they have their hearts in the right place. I am not sure how it will mesh with my job, but I will attempt and try obtain information before I commit.

Quick answers to a Blue Knight
1. Thanks for your service first of all! :yes1:

2. The NCIC check makes sure we don't have "Chester the Molester" as a prospect. They will never, ever, come near a child.

3. Answer to #2 Yes, most people who would have the mental makeup to commit a felony are not prone to want to help. NCIC check would show this.

4. As you are from Texas you are aware of the COC and 1% groups. They are a part of life and we acknowledge their existence, but are not part of them. They do however, support BACA and our mission.

Attend a meeting, ask questions. There is nothing better in this world than to bring back a smile to a child.

Thanks, for the info.

I have met a few BACA riders before, and they spoke once years ago to a Blue Knight Chapter.

I attended a BACA event last year, a baseball game in Arlington, where we rode our bikes onto the field. I think it was an Air Hog's game?

I'll check you guys out.

baca

I spent 5 1/2 yrs with BACA, there are some good people there, but...........
they also have their fair share of the bad ones, approach with caution, there are a bunch that are in it for the wrong reasons.
Needless to say I am not with them anymore, I'm not hangin out a bunch of dirty laundry on here, pm or e-mail me and I can pass along some info.
