What brands of 3/4 helmets are available color matched? [03 candy red and 04 titanium] Also is it better/cheaper to purchase with headsets installed or buy seprately? Where to buy? Thanks, Bill

Bill,
I like the Arie 3/4 helmets and they are color matched right from the local Honda shop. I don't know about other brands.

Good luck!

I just bought the Arai color matched with the integrated headset. Now to many its very expensive, and they are right, but its my head.. :) I bought the Arai because it also had the integrated headset by J&M. One of the first things you notice is that the headset is just not placed into the helmet. The helmet shell shape has actually been changed to accomodate the headset on the left side. You must also buy a new cord to accomodate integrating it with the standard Honda plug in.

I have worn a Shoei RJ-Air for several years, and they also had this helmet color matched to any of the wing colors, and it did say Goldwing on the side. It would be cheaper to buy this helmet and add the headset to it.

Both of these helmets are comfortable to me, although I will say the Arai is a little more "plush" and I do think the venting system is a little better although not much. The integrated headset (which I believe is the top of the line J&M) is MUCH better than the Honda headset I was using.

Niehaus Honda in Litchfield, IL carries all of these in stock and I believe you can order them online. I've always been afraid to order a helmet online as I have found sizes between different manufacturers are not the same, so I like to be somewhere where I can try them on.

helmets

for the last couple of years shoei's have been the ones that has been licsened by honda to supply the color matched goldwing helmets ,,, the open face helmets are the rj airs with a nice "goldwing" on the side... the arais to me are a better helmet, but the cost differnts is not worth it .. where i purschased my helmets the "goldwing" shoei sells for around 216. to 220.. and the non "goldwing" shoei for around 175.00..with j & m head sets starting around 93. and going and going and going

That is true about the shoei. Two weeks ago tomorrow I was at my Honda dealer that I bought my bike from. I asked them about a helmet for my 2003 candy orange. They got on their computer and I was told there was one shoei candy orange left. I paid for the helmet and they placed the order. It was to be shipped to the dealer last Thursday. I never heard from them. They are closed on Monday and I didnt get a chance to call them until this past Thursday. I was now told they cant get the helmet and I have to go to the dealer to get my money back. So if you are wanting the shoei for a candy orange...good luck.

I have a pair of Arai classic/c (not color matched). I really like these and would like to buy Arai again but the closest (authorized) dealer is 100 miles from Little Rock according to their website. Can you buy these from J&M online? If not I may just add mic/intercoms to mine. Thanks for the info, Bill

I did get a catalog from J&M earlier in the year and they were listed in it so I would assume you could order direct from them. If not, go to www.niehauscycle.com and give them a call. When I was there they had everycolor I believe, I'm not sure about the sizing.
