I just ordered the above and I already have spares of both Honda part numbers; compulsive one, I am.

I just performed my first year oil change and, although the service manual doesn't require oil and DCT filter changes until 4,000 miles (and I'm not there yet), I changed those, too. Fred's video is perfect for someone like me, i.e. first time 'Wing owner doing an oil change.

The factory oil filter was on way too tight but, fortunately, the wrench that came with the filter got it off without too much pain and suffering, and no puncturing of the old filter required. Getting the wrench off the filter was a different story, but some extreme violence did the trick.

Fred is absolutely right that the official O-ring isn't a good fit. It looked good on disassembly so I reused it. I managed to pinch it when replacing the DCT filter cover. How do I know? Drips of oil under the 'bike the next day. Fortunately, I had ordered Fred's unofficial O-ring and it fit perfectly. I was dreading having to drain the oil but, on removing the DCT filter cover, I just had a few oil drips to deal with. It may have been a different story if the filter dropped out while I was working on the 'bike, but it stayed put.

The only other thing that I noticed was that the crush washers on the three drain bolts were, well, really crushed, and reusing them seemed unwise, so I used new ones.

Just to throw a little mud on the tires, I've been using 1.5 in x1 5/16 in x 3/32 in O-rings from a hardware store. Never a problem. I like the above Amazon ones, so for reference, the following dimensions are pertinent:

The Honda part, 91302-PA9-003 DCT O-ring dimensions are 39.8mm x35.6 mm x 2.2 mm (Outside dia/Inside dia/cross section)
Fred's alternate O-ring dimensions are 37.2 mm x 32.4 mm x 2.4 mm
My hardware store O-ring dimensions are 38.1mm x 33.3 mm x 2.4 mm (inches from above converted to metric and rounded to 2 decimal places)
And Bussmoe2's are 37 mm x 32.2 mm x 2.4 mm

So while Buzzmoe2's O-rings are close to Fred's alternate O-rings, my O-rings seem to be somewhere in between Fred's alternate and the official Honda, part, and I have had no problems with pinching the o-rings at all.

So from Bussmoe2's Amazon link, I ordered the 38 mm x 33.2 mm x 2.4 mm (Thanks for the link).

OH NO! Terrible mistake! It will crash and burn or is it burn and crash? Those Honda crush washers were your "BREAK IN" crush washers! Now your engine will never break in properly.

Joke off. OH, I forgot to say "Joke on".
