Hello Guys,
Well I have the dreaded Code 26 that just won't go away. 2003 non-ABS with 55000 miles. Showed up after I passed through a crater in the road. The state calls them potholes but this one belonged on the moon.

Anyway, I did the knock sensor swap and checked the continuity of the wires and the wires to ground. Cleared the code shorting the connector under the seat. No more code for 312 miles than it showed up again. Did the reset under the seat again, re-seated the connector for good measure, cleaned the connector with contact cleaner. Code back after 25 miles. A new ECM is in my future. I have read the ton of pages concerning this problem. I don't think there is anything left to try! I'm listening for any further suggestions.

Question: I'm looking at Partzilla because they have the best price. I noticed that the part number on the ECM in the pictures end in 305 which is the same part number that is on the bike now. The new part number is on the bag.
With all of these ECM failures, has Honda addressed the problem? Is the 38770-MCA-P00 number the upgrade to correct these ECM failures? Or am I getting the same old ECM with a new number on the bag?

Thanks
Mike
