Has anyone on the forum used one of these for a wing. I'm thinking about buying one for daily garage storage but haven't heard anything, good or bad about them. I've looked at Condor and Baxley and feel they are too expensive ($250 ~ $300) since these go for around $75. I want to be able to pull straight into the garage and stand the bike vertically between the two cars without using the center stand. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Art

I made a chock for my garage out of plywood (3/4") and some metal braces for about $35.00. Pull in shut it off and walk away. It has worked well for 5-6 years.

Just a thought - Harbor Freight is about the same as saying China!
I almost lost my brand new Wide Glide a few years ago off one of their "cheapy" bike jacks when 1 side of it buckled and colapsed w/my Glide up in the air on it.
I would pay 3 times or more the money (I did for a Pit Bull lift) to make sure I got good steel(not sheet metal stampings) with Grade 8 bolts, etc.
Just my .02
Of course, to be truthful, my Pit Bull was manufactured in the USA but, when I got it, guess where the the bottle jack was imported from? It had to be replaced after approx 4 years of use!

You have to re weld a lot of stuff from harbor freight. Just figure on that if you buy something from there. I used to buy a few things, but time and experience has simply shown, leave it in the store. Time you mess with it , fix it, modify it, might as well bite the bullet and buy something that has some quality to it.

Using a front wheel chock with the heavy wing, as a sole means of support is not a real good idea. They will hold the bike pretty well as long as it is rode in straight, and you carefully get off, and not push the bike, but the wing is a bit wobbly in a chock. More to use on a lift or trailer to position the front wheel, steady it a bit while you tie it down. A helping hand.

I know around here I would never trust one, I have grand kids running around all the time, and If I left the bike with just a chock, it would end up on top of one of them.

Looks like a cheap Condor knock off... Don't bother..

I have a REAL Condor chock and my Rocket III just started leaning over in it while free standing in the driveway!! :eek:4: (It was adjusted to the wheel per the instructions) The bike didn't fall all the way over and the chock didn't break (it's a decent, high quality product).. I'd trust the Condor in the trailer with tiedowns, but not freestanding with anything heavier than a sportbike.. For the heavy bikes and the trailer, I have a couple of Baxley chocks..

You get what you pay for! I have a Baxley and it was money well spent. IMO

I have a Baxley LA chock in my trailer and the Baxley Sport chock on my lift. I really like the baxley chocks because the automatically adjust for the width of the tire. The Sport chock has a locking feature to ensure the tire stays in the chock. Yes, they are expensive, but they are well worth the price. For just holding the bike in place in the garage the HF chock looks like it will do the job.

You can only hope you get what you pay for! When you go cheap to save a few bucks, you have to throw that hope out the window, usually right after you throw the cheap item through that window!

I have one for my Wing and it works very well. No problems with it at all, well worth the money. I use it in my toyhauler and it holds the Wing in place securely(with proper tie downs of course). I did use it in the garage for awhile, but you do have to anchor it to the floor to prevent it sliding on you. In the toy hauler I just secure it with tie down straps to prevent it from sliding while riding my Wing into the chock. Hauled the Wing all the way to the Gulf Coast and it did a nice job. I would buy it again. JMO

I have to respectfully disagree with the above post, as I'm using the product and am very happy with it. I had to make no mods to the Harbor Freight chock. Good to go out of the box.(I do not have a front fender extension on my Wing)

Been using a Condor for the past 5 years - on my flatbed trailer. Used it for my CBR600, VTX 1300, VTX 1800 and now with my Goldwing. Hauled a bike from Florida to Seattle - no problems. Picked up my new ST with it as well. It will hold the bike on trailer while I go setting up the straps. Loading the bike is a one person job.

I would not park the bike in the garage on the Condor or any other wheel chock. I would also not cut any corners on this - Condor or Baxley.
