I just purchased the 60 month, Honda roadside assistance package from Honda Direct Line. They are having a sale on this, will tow from "anywhere to the closest Honda dealer" coverage. Just $99 and it is for 60 months.
Last year a buddy had a front tire issue just outside Las Vegas. The commercial tow to a motorcycle shop in Vegas was $600!

I called Honda direct yesterday. They informed me there was a sale from the $127.50 price. Hard to beat with the plan lasting 5 years.
Had this with my 2005, but it's locked into your Wing's Vehicle ID# and can't be transferred to another bike. Not a big deal at that price.
I also had a friend go off the road last weekend. AAA would not help, even with their RV - Motorcycle coverage. They said they didn't have the proper equipment!

Hi, does the contract specify
1) USA only motorcycles? ( my GL1800 2010 is a USA VIN, originally from there)
2) Any age limit of the MC being covered

I'm not sure if Honda Canada Powersports offers a standalone Roadside Assistance Plan, it appears to be bundled with the Honda Canada Motorcycle Extended Warranty offerings. I may need to call them to find out, your RSA for 60 months is very good deal.

Yes, you'll have to contact them for those details. I like the plan that will send service that can actually handle picking up a motorcycle.. Like my last post... I don't want a service that says, "We don't have the right equipment"!
I have never needed roadside assistance with a motorcycle. But it's nice to know I have it and this wcan take me somewhere that actually works on Honda motorcycles.

Any time your vehicle gets towed expect the possibility of crazy issues like “we are not equipped for that” unfortunately the towing companies make a lot more money with poor or no service.

Great point! I paid AAA extra for their RV service for quite a few years. The ONE time that I needed to use it I was three miles from home in relatively urban Northern California. The dispatcher told me that they had no-one in range that could tow an RV. God help me if I was in the desert and really needed them.

I've carried the Honda Roadside Assistance plan on 2 different GW's and I've had to use it twice and everything worked flawlessly. As that saying goes......Don't leave home without it.
Both times I purchased it when it was on sale from Honda Direct Line.

Thank You, I just went to the web site and ordered coverage, I paid a little more (120.00 + 7.50 shipping) However I consider that a bargain. I once had to use Roadside assistance from another co. Not a good experience!!

I've thought about some coverage like this, but I have the Progressive coverage which comes with their insurance. Perhaps I should do a search and see what people's experiences have been...

For you folks that have a tow service with a company other than the Honda Roadside Assist plan and for those deciding on who to sign up with check your policy to see how many miles and what kind of motorcycle shop you will be towed too.I've had some folks tell me that their plan would only tow them 75 mi. and dropped their bike off at Joe Cool's Motorcycle Shop and nobody at that shop has ever worked on or seen a GW. :crying:
The Honda plan will tow you to the nearest Honda dealer regardless of how far it is. That info for me gave me a lot of peace-of-mind. You may have an excellent tow plan, all I'm saying is do your homework before you decide.

$90, $99.99, $127.50...why the varied pricing?

#21 ·
When I purchased mine it was $99.99 period and the $7.50 shipping charge wasn't charged. When the sale price is over the regular price is $120 and they don't charge the $7.50 shipping fee. I have no idea who paid $90, that might be a mistake.

Please explain the process to me
1) When you order via phone or internet through HDL do you provide them your VIN? (I understand membership is tied to the VIN as opposed the individual like AAA)
2) Do you have to provide any addition info such address & phone #
3) Does HDL activate your enrollment or is this something need to do online after purchase?
4) Do you get any sort of card mailed to you showing membership?
4) Is this a standalone offering (not tied to any extended warranty program)?

Thanks

I can only relate to my experience, 1) No, 2) Yes, 3) ? 4) I am thinking this is the case. 2nd 4) That is my understanding

I am thinking I will get a Card, not unlike my AAA card, ordering by phone may be the better option, then questions could be answered, (I didn't because I am to impatient) jmop

When I signed up by phone I questioned them on the $7.50 shipping charge and I was told when you got the final bill the shipping charge wouldn't be billed.
Lots of folks who may want to sign up for this plan have lots of questions. My advice is to call "the man" HDL and get all your answers direct from them. :wink2:

Just talked to Bill and he said they will tow your trailer that's attached to the bike. Also, they will tow you to the nearest Honda dealer up to 100 miles, if it's more than 100 miles it's to the nearest authorized motorcycle repair shop. The repair shop has to be authorized by Honda so I'm not sure what that means and he wasn't either. One would think it means a Honda dealer?

I've had this plan for over 20 yrs. and I was always told that you would be towed to the nearest Honda dealer regardless of how far it was. Maybe they have changed some of the coverage. When I have some time I'll get out my plan paperwork and see what it says.
