The previous owner of my bike installed Kury Ergo II Cruise Mounts. I find that I really don't like them because I just can't get them into a comfortable position because of the GW fairing. I'll admit though that the problem is probably because he was short and installed the longer arms, while I should probably have the mini-arms for my 34" inseam. I sat on a friends bike the other day with the MOPs and I really liked that feel, but that's a lot of money right now. However I see that Kury also has available a kit to upgrade my Ergo II to Ergo III with adjustable arms that look like they work similar to the MOPs.

So does anybody have the Ergo III Mounts? Any thoughts on them compared to the MOPs? Anybody have an upgrade kit gathering dust on the shelf that they want to sell?

I have the Ergo III's in route right now. My "new to me '04" has a set of KA MOPs which extend my legs too much for my likes and I found at 80mph on very mild freeway sweepers my heels would drag. I decided to try the IIIs instead of purchasing a different MOPs and then swap if the length was wrong....

I have Ergo III on my 08 which I bought used 25 months ago. Came with em and the 7in arms. I could not get comfy forward or back. Ordered the short arms (3 1/2- I think) and that was the ticket. I mounted them forward- 35 inch inseam. Hope this helps.
Sounds like you have the Ergo II like me. If I understand it correctly, the Ergo IIIs have spring-loaded arms that will swing down when you put your feet on them, and swing back up when you take your feet off. Similar in function to MOPs, but with adjustable length arms too.

My friend with the MOPs mentioned that he had the same problem when he first got them. He cut the arms down and re-drilled the mounting hole for the pegs. Seems to have worked great. That might be an option for you to try before you mount the IIIs. Maybe you can return or sell your IIIs and save some money.

I have the Ergo111's on my wing with short arms...(32 inch inseam) I really like them. yes when you remove your feet they do spring up
I don't ride with my feet on them all the time just for 10 15 minutes then back to the main pegs.

I would have bought the MOP's but to be honest they have way to many arms...feet up, feet down, left right... long short arms

so the Ergo's were the best choice for me

Did you use the "stock" Ergo III or a different arm:?: I have one in route.

Got my Ergo III today

Got my Ergo III today and just finished installing them this evening. A lot of adjustments to figure out: 1) fore and aft on the engine guard tubing, 2) the arms themselves, 3) angle of the peg to the arm, and 4) angle of the peg to bottom of foot.

Got to do some more static adjustment late tomorrow afternoon and then a dynamic test, of I'm guessing 400 miles, on Sunday. Next report will be after that ride.

One immediate noticeable difference is even at full length of the arm, the peg has much more clearance from the ground than the MOP KAs that I took off.

I'm thinkin' of getting a new set of Kury's in BLACK. Anyone know if they are powder-coated or just painted?
Kury just calls them black.

To all of you who are thinking about purchasing the Kuryakin Ergo III Adjustable Cruise Mounts. Don't!!!
I purchased a set at Sturgis last year at the J&P Cycle location. Paid the extra money to have them install them. I was told not to worry because they were professionals. Then the professional promptly snapped one of the mounting bolts as he was not using a torque wrench. Within 10 miles of having them installed, the right cruise mount ratcheted downward towards the asphalt. Had I been approaching a right hand turn, I would have certainly caught the peg and had an accident on my NEW WING. I went back and they replaced that side again. I have continued to have issues with these pegs ever since. At first I thought it was because the pivot bolt was not properly torqued to 30 lb/ft. That helped but I am having the same issue again and now there is no tightening of the bolt available. I even used Loctite to prevent it from backing out and getting loose again. So, if you are considering this purchase, it is a lot of money for a neat idea that has not been properly executed. I even spoke with Kuryakin early on and they wanted to know what I found as they were getting phone calls from others who had purchased the kit that were having the same issue. I am contacting Kuryakin again this coming Monday to see if they will do anything for me.

Had the exact same problem. Left side peg would ratchet down (clockwise). This began within a week after installation of a brand new set. I contacted Kuryakyn and reported the problem. They were very nice. The tech recommended disassembly and inspection. The various components seemed to be installed in the correct order. I cleaned everything, regreased the moving parts, reassembled everything and torqued the pivot bolt to the recommended spec. Loc-tite (blue) was used on the pivot bolt. After around 1200 miles I have had no further problems. I believe the problem was with factory assembly and failure to use a thread locker.

I have the 3990 black Ergo III on my 2015 wing. Black is powder coated. I have 30" inseam and stock arms fit me well. With feet on pegs... I have scraped once.. but once retracted I have not. I normally do not put feet on highway pegs in twisties.

I like the Ergo III's very much so far. Just under 20k miles on mine so far.

The MOP's simply look too industrial for my taste.

I also experienced the ratcheting problem. My first ride after installing them the right side ratcheted straight down. I called Kuryakyn and they suggested I double check the torque on the pivot bolt, didn't help. Called them back, this time they wanted me to disassemble the mechanism and check to see if it was properly lubed and the parts assembled in the correct order. It was and it still wouldn't work. Before calling them back I disassembled it again and carefully looked at each and every part of the mechanism and discovered a quantity of metal shavings in the bottom of the pivot bolt hole preventing the bolt from seating properly. Blew them out, reassembled everything, retorqued the bolt and have not had a minutes problem with them since.
