I was tucking the trike in for the night in Barstow in a hotel right on Rte 66 and my late wife was like turn around. It was sunset. This was our last big trip before her illness started progressing. We put 6800 miles in 17 days on vacation.

 

A small town in bad shape, somewhere in Peru.

 

We had a close encounter with this one on Beartooth Road, just west of the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway in June 2023

 

That's a big bear. He turned an looked back, waiting for you to get off your wing.

 

He was standing along the roadway as we approached. we weren’t going very fast, and he started running down the shoulder of the road then up the hillside. My wife thinks we scared it because we were wearing our high viz green frog togg rain jackets

I’m not sure about that, but we were definitely glad he didn’t run towards us 😱

My wife and I at the Minnesota State Fair 2-weeks ago.......I've never missed a year (other than 2020 Covid, which it was canceled) since I was a little kid!
(This picture was only 1-week after a MAJOR health scare concerning my wife)........treasure those you love, you never know what tomorrow brings! 💕

Climbed out of a very steep ditch and crossed the road about twenty feet in front of us, he stopped for a second to look at us and then thankfully continued on his way across the road. He looked even bigger when he was standing on the road.

More positive note, Here's one for today......

 

Since retiring at the end of 2019, I spend a lot of time photographing wildlife. Luckily, in our area along Lake Erie there are over 120 eagle nests 🦅

 

That is a great picture!
There is something about the bald eagles that draws my attention all the time.
One thing that I find cool is the pissed off look they always have on their face.

30th anniversary weekend.
Fishing, boating, beautiful weather, and the one that saved me from myself 31 years ago. Couldn't ask for more.

 

Saguaro National Park East Unit a few years ago out hiking. Seen it when I just entered the trail. I had my phone but not my camera that day. I decided to head back to the truck and get my camera back at home. Threw the camera in my wing and rode back out there (a few miles away). The park rangers closed the trail by that time to allow the cat privacy. I was still able to capture some pretty good images from my Goldwing from the side of the road. I’ve lived, hunted and hiked in Az all my life waiting to see a bobcat up in a saguaro. First time in my 60s.

I really don't know the difference......................is that a lynx ?? I have bobcats around here where I live. But, they don't have tails. A lynx ??

From my front porch today between rain storms:

 

Picture above is a Delta 4 Heavy, loaded and ready to go off of Pad 37 at CCSFS. Delta series rockets are no longer used and Pad 37 has been taken down. The building you see was also the launch pad. They would roll the shelter back prior to launch.

Speaking of Space, enjoy the last shuttle to be flown out of KSC (below).
