I went to Walmart today to get some Scotch Guard for my bike cover and jacket. I happened to find a product called “Seam Seal” so I bought it for my Ultimate seat.
I applied it to my seat seams when I got home. I may never know if it works, but the process was simple enough and not too expensive.

I had something similar years ago for the seams on my camping tent. It eventually turned yellow and flaked off. It took a couple of years. Probably didn't help the tent was rolled up most of the time.
