I can't do a comparison for you, but I have a Neo Tech and I love it. It fits comfortably, is relatively quiet and functions well. Best of all, it was a Craigslist find at $350!!

Revzilla has great helmet comparison and reviews for helmets. I never owned either but I am a Neotec fan myself. They fit my head very well...made the mistake and bought a different helmet! :roll:

 

I can't compare since I've only owned Neotec. It is a great quality helmet, well made, nice features. It is my first modular and after almost a year, I still am not a modular fan. Too many moving parts for me, I guess. But for a modular, it is outstanding.

 

I have two Multitec's. I like the helmet. The Neotec is definitely a "better" designed helmet. It's also a 6 year newer design. When I get my most recent Multitec, I was all set to get a Neo, but my local Kawasaki dealer was closing out the Multitec for $149. That was a no brainer. I won't need a new helmet for a number of years, but if I had to choose today, it would be a Neotec, hands down.

 

I've owned both. The Multitech fit perfect, most comfortable helmet I've ever worn. Replaced it with a Neotec. It took the Neotec a little bit to break in and now is just as comfortable as the Multitech was from the get go. The Neotec also has a little more chin room and better ventilation. It also helps that I have a Shoei shaped head.

 

I have owned both, Multitec is a very good helmet but the Neotec is better! Neotec has a removable liner, better ventilation, more chin room and a internal sun visor.

multi tec

Multi-tec, paid big bucks at cycle gear a few years ago, but fits my big head perfect 2x. i could leave it on all day, for real. Other helmets i had, i would have to take them off every half hour or so, killing my head. Quality is excellent. Worth every penny!!

 

I have the Neo Tec but apparently my head is not designed for this helmet. After about an hour, the pressure on my forehead is too much. I really like this helmet except for that. I occasionally had a similar problem with an HJC, but not as bad.

 

I'm looking for reviews of those who have tried both the Shoei Multi-Tec and NeoTec helmets.
I'm thinking seriously about getting a new modular helmet and Shoei's seem to fit my head shape well. (Currently use a Shoei 3/4 helmet)
I've seen the reviews from the stores, etc., but would really like to hear from forum members who've tried both.
It's a pricey expenditure and I want to make really sure that I don't spend the bucks without doing the research.

I wore a Shoei 3/4 when I first bought my Wing. Fit like a glove, quiet, and I could wear it all day.
when I went to buy a FF helmet a couple years later, I couldn't find a Shoei that was comfortable. Ended up with another brand.

Fast forward to recently. I happened to be at a dealer who stocked Schuberths so I tried on a C3Pro. It fit better than ANY helmet I've ever tried!

A friend said that Schuberths and fit her well - and so did the Neotec, so she saved $$ and bought the Shoei. She loves it.

I tried on a Neotec and it was a non-starter. Just didn't fit at all - tight spots, loose spots....

Moral of the story, I guess, is that a head that works in one helmet might not fit in another.

I had a Multitec. I liked it a great deal. I was involved in a crash with the Multitec, it was retired

I replaced it with a NeoTec. I like the Neotec better. Fits about the same as Multitec. Venting is better on NeoTec.

NeoTec Inner visor works great for me. The Pin-loc inner visor stops all fogging of the visor in colder months

Neotech hands down is a better helmet than the multi. I have J&M 629s with a boom in both helmets, the mic sits on my lips in multi in doesn't touch my mouth at all in the Neo, nice increase in distance of the chin bar. The venting improvement, in my opinion, is over rated......when it's hot, it's hot, I don't notice any great improvement, I still sweat in it but I do like the fact I can remove the liner and wash it.... I like the fact that the Neo came with the pin lock as well.

Not if you buy a 2XL. They only fit one size cheek pad. I currently have mine removed and sandwiched in a book with some bricks on top to help "break them in". I love the Neo Tech features but it hurts my ears and squeezes my cheeks to the point where it is uncomfortable. This is my first modular and I really like the visor and the air flow. Hope the books and bricks do the job.

 

I am on my second multi-tech. I tried to upgrade to the neo-tech but there was extreme pressure on my forehead. I had to return it and got my second multi-tech which I love. The helmets fit a little different. I believe there is less room in the forehead area of the neo-tech because of the drop down sun visor. Just make sure the neo-tech fits. Both great helmets.

 

Multi-tech vs Neo-tech

I have had both and the removable liners, the pin lock anti fog shield, better ventilation and seems quieter of the Neo-Tech make it a better deal but the very best feature is the flip down sun shield. It is worth the entire helmet in my opinion.

Go with the Neo Tech

 

I have been researching helmets for a while now and narrowed it down to around 4 or 5 helmets. After trying them all on the Neotech was the winner for my wife and I. It is my understanding that the Multitech in not available anymore as it has been discontinued as I asked about it. I tried the Scorpian, HJC, Shark and nobody has a Nolan to even try on which I find rather lame. I like the way the Shoei fits, the sun visor and the construction. I even got them on a special for $525 in store purchase which was better than Revzilla. I got the metallic silver and she got the white. :thumbup:

Neo tech. The drop down sun visor is worth every penny.

pros -
1) quieter in my opinon (much easier to listen music)
2) fits me better (multitech little more looser even though the same size)
3) able to move my headset over from the multitech to the neotech without a lot of modification to neotech
4) love the sun visor (no need to carry extra sun glasses)
cons -
1) expensive
2) like the Nolan strap better
3) wasn't able to install the microphone in the chin bar as I did in the mulitech
4) after waiting for the price to drop, I finally pulled the trigger and both 2 for my wife and I.
You won't be sorry that you bought the neotech.

What did you do about the microphone? I am moving from a Multitech to the Neotech and can't figure out how to remove the Neotech inner chin bar liner to cut a hole to install my microphone.
