I was lucky to travel to the Appalachian area and the many Mad Map routes that are in that area. One of those routes I chose to ride was the "Head of the Dragon" which takes you through old coal country on some very nice roads. In this picture I stopped for a water break. While relaxing I snapped a few pictures. This was just one of them.

That looks like a good ride! Plan it right and folks could also drop down 16 and do the Back of the Dragon from Tazewell to Marion.
