Not clear on how ya park the bike on soft surface so you can get into the trunk or saddle bag to dig out a pad to put under the kickstand. Unless you have a passenger who hops off first and gets it for ya. Solo riders might have a balancing act to do.

Mine fits into the mainly unused fairing pocket. Simple to drop and retrieve. I was going to purchase a better pad but decided to see how many times I would use one. Last year I used it twice so decided I could spend the money on fuel.

Anyone have this? Gold Wing Kickstand Pad, 2018+ - Traxxion Dynamics

I currently use a small piece of diamond plate that I take out of the saddle bag when needed. This seems more convenient but I'm wondering if it's worth the $40 price tag and what peoples' experience has been with it. I know Rivco makes one as well.

I have the Traxxion pad. "Set it & Forget it". Fits perfectly, works well, worth the money.

$40 plus tax & shipping is a little steep. Before my wing was triked, I had a plastic "disc" about 6" in diameter that my local dealer was giving away one year as a customer appreciation gift. It has a small hold drilled on one side that I ran a string through. I could get the disc out of the passenger storage compartment and toss it down then wrap the string around the left handlebar. When it was time to leave, I pulled it up with the string and stuffed it back into the passenger storage compartment. $0.00 cost other than the string. With that said, I have a few "doo dads" from Traxxion on my '19 wing. They are high quality but expensive.

Bit the bullet and ordered one. Ordering it from Traxxion's eBay store rather than directly from their web site saved me a few bucks on shipping. I'm all about set it and forget it :)

Bought something similar from Amazon. All metal comes in different colors. Fits tight has set screw. I glued mine then mounted it with the set screw.

Bought one on ebay from China works great for $$19.99 and free shipping. Red Kickstand Pad Side Stand Enlarge Plate For For HONDA Goldwing 1800 GL1800
The only bad thing about the ones from China, is they copy someone else's design (in this case Rivco) and sell it cheaper without having to do any of the design work. And everyone complains that we don't make anything in the US anymore. Well.. yes.. you can save 20 bucks by buying the knock off, but who are you really helping? It's your choice of course, but I like to support small businesses in the US when I can. I chose to pay for Max's design work.

I use the ones left over from my Harleys - they don't care whose kickstand is on them! They're about six bucks apiece and have kept many of my bikes from sinking in on soft soil/asphalt.

I do the same as you. Except, I cut a slit in mine, tied some string in the slit, loop on the other end, hang it on my adjustable vent lever on the cowl. For as much as I need it, works great!

I got the Traxxion and loved it until it fell off; the little screws loosened. I bought another one from Max and THIS TIME I used some rubber cement to ensure I keep the new unit. Works great!

Really liked this kickstand pad....until it cracked along the rear top, allowing it to become loose. Seems the thin aluminum on top, combined with the radiused shape of the top of the Honda stand foot aren't compatible when the bikes' weight is out on it.

So in the two weeks that I've had it, it went from 'this is great!', to a metallic rattling annoyance, but still functioned.

I went to tighten the screws today to see if it would help, or remove it - but silly me - I had used Honda orange thread lock thinking this was a great 'install and forget' part - I ended up having to drill the set screws out to get it off.

Saddened - I wanted to like it and the theory is sound - especially on soft surfaces (stone driveways, etc), but it's not up to the challenge.

Looks like I will have to find a better design.

I would email Max. I've found up to now that their customer service is stellar.

I've had mine on for over a year. No issues...

I had one on Goldey, but I've taken it off. It is wide and sticks out quite far beyond the shape of the OEM sidestand's pad. Goldey is so top heavy that I prefer to keep the sidestand down while I walk her around, but with the Traxxion pad attached, the geometry changes because of how much farther the Traxxion pad sticks out. That change in geometry dramatically limits available left-side tilt. If while walking Goldey with the Traxxion-pad-attached sidestand down I accidentally allowed her to tilt just a bit too far to the left, the edge of the Traxxion pad would catch on the pavement and sharply stand her up. Several times that nearly caused me to drop her over on the right. If you're going to use the Traxxion pad, do not walk the motorcycle with the sidestand down, or be religious about keeping it vertical. Also as others have suggested use Loctite or Permatex to keep the set screws from loosening.

I'm surprised to see you say that the GW is top heavy. I don't find that at all. The center of gravity on my GW is much lower than the HD Ultra Classic I came off of, making it much easier to handle. Does not feel like a bike that is just south of 900 lbs. In any case I never walk the bike with the side stand down so no problem following your recommendation :) I do agree to make sure you use some blue locktite when you put your set screws in, otherwise they will come out.
