Hi,
For those that prefer a permanent mounting for their Warm & Safe Heat-Trollers, where are you mounting them for you, and for your passenger, on your '18+ 'Wing.

I have the Remote Controlled Trollers, but have chosen not to use them as I want to limit the amount of items Velcro'd to the bike.

Also, where did you mount your, and your passenger's, DC Coax Jack Panel Mounts for plugging the heated gear into?

Any pics showing these locations would be greatly appreciated! :grin2:

WARNING!!!

The controller you show can not be mounted on the bike...at lease the black remote box....it voids out the warranty...you must carry the remote in your pocket....and then plug it in.....

IF you want every thing mounted on your bike....providing you have not installed your current unit send it back and request the Legacy panel mounted controller.....

I had ordered the one that you ordered only to find that it would not work unless you carry the controller in your pocket which I thought defeated the purpose of permanent mounting..unfortunately I had already mounted it onto my bike thus I had to eat it....

Included here is a picture of how I have the legacy product mounted with the control knobs and the jacks...I then plug in my liner and gloves into the two jacks....I have nothing setup for passenger since my wife will not ride unless it is 95 degrees and sunny...then I need an air conditioner....

I mounted the one controller unit under my seat and ran all wires back from side Cowling.

You need to watch where you place things...there are brackets and wires behind the side cowling that will interfere with the jacks and control knobs if you are not carefull...measure twice...:nerd:

PM me with your phone number if you have questions...

Thanks for the warning, but I should have mentioned that I've always kept my receiver (black remote box) in my W&S's jacket pocket, and my intention is to not Velcro a controller box to the outside of the bike.
This new kit (shown) requires only one socket to be installed on the bike for each rider, yet allows 2 items of gear to be heated separately.

The explanation of the use of this kit from W&S is:

Dual Remote Control Mounted Heat-troller

The Dual Remote Control Mounted Heat-troller is a product based on the circuit design of our latest Remote Control Heat-troller, but replaces the old Dual Mounted Heat-troller. The complaint we received with the old version was that it require plugging two power lines to run both the jacket liner and the gloves. With the Dual Remote Mounted Heat-troller, the receiver is in the jacket liner or heat layer pocket always connected to them and the gloves or ready to plug to the pants. Only one power cable needs to be plugged to the receiver.

The remote control is Velcro under the fairing with the switches and LEDs panel mounted to some place covenant to be reached. The remote control is powered by a switched source like the running lights. The reason it comes with two battery harnesses is so you use one with the power from the battery to the receiver in your heated gear. The other one is to use to power the Remote control. You can cut it down to the size you need since you will be running off a switched power source like the running lights. That way you do not need a relay or a fuse for it. the Remote control only uses a few milli-amps to run the radio.

Another advantage to this setup is that if you need to remove the fairing to work on the bike, the power for the remote just unplugs and the fairing can move away from the bike.

Great....I installed the legacy model, it only takes one power source, two control knob wires and two remote mount jacks....I stalled two in-line 7 pin connectors for the control knobs (yes cut the wires) so that the fairing can come off by just disconnecting the two 7 pin connectors right below the fuel tank fill-up compartment under seat....it works great...I was going to go the remote way but decided after the fact that I did not want to have to remember to store the remote in my jacket....and since you still have to plug in a wire to the remote I decided to tucked everything under the seat and all I have to do is remember to plug the liner and gloves into the panel mounted jacks....good luck with your setup I am sure it will work....
