Am I reading this correctly? The Nav has been eliminated?

NEW FOR 2025

  • New colors for all trim levels.
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can now be used wirelessly on all Gold Wing versions.
  • Given the widespread adoption of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the Gold Wing's native navigation system has been eliminated for 2025.
  • "Since 1975" has been added to the Gold Wing logo that appears at the meter's "opening ceremonies" when the bike is turned on.
  • On standard versions, a Gold Wing logo across the saddlebags and side fairings adds a bold styling treatment.
  • A special 50th Anniversary badge is situated in front of the seat and on the Smart Key, commemorating the Gold Wing's important milestone (on all versions except for Light Silver Metallic).
  • For model-year 2025, all Gold Wing versions in Eternal Gold, Bourdeaux Red Metallic and Matte Black Metallic (not Light Silver Metallic) come with two free commemorative gifts: a coffee-table book and a tabletop 3D 1:12 scale model. The model features a 1975 Gold Wing on one side and a 2025 Gold Wing on the other side.
Certainly looks that way. But then the Harmon navigation sucks

See how that cell phone GPS works west of the Mississippi!

It works fine as long as you have cell service, also you can down load a map. But! Get into your route and decide to make a change using your cell phone GPS and no towers it just stops working. I use the bike's GPS, or my added on Garmin 90% of the time. I use my cell phone once in a while, and mostly around my home area. There is a whole lot of area in the west with no cell service, regardless of what cell service maps would like you to believe. I can travel less than 100 miles out of Fargo and lose cell service for some distance.
20 miles north of Boise into the mountains we switch from cell service to smoke signals.

Hummmm.......
2025 Honda Goldwing VS 1962 Ford Country Squire Station Wagon.......coincidence?
🤭 :giggle: 🤭
Ok, I take back all the nice things I said about yours! :p

I guess adaptive cruise is just a rumor
According to the president of Honda Germany in YouTube video interview by G. Oldwing this past fall, there never was a plan for adaptive cruise control or other upgrades for the 2025.. those technologies are still a couple years out according to him. He was accurate about the 2025 so I’ll trust him for the timeline.

SHAME! I took it from the Monkey. Thank you Mr. Monkey and your Paw.

It looks like my white 2018 is safe for the next few years…… unless it magically morphs into an Indian power plus or a bmw or a harley… who knows.

There is just no way the 2025 upgrades/downgrades are speaking to me at this time.

Honda has clearly lost their mojo.

I would like to see that eternal gold bike in person though. I think this is a bold statement …. Retro cool.

I love the retro gold colorway and even though it's not to my taste for ownership, it's very very cool.

No onboard Nav is a huge bummer to me. Just riding around the Pacific Northwest there's been numerous times where I had a route planned into Google Maps, then pulled off course to see something (like the turnout at Ruby Beach on the WA coast for example) in an area where I didn't have cell coverage. Google Maps just goes into a never-ending "Recalculating" route and the nav becomes effectively worthless until signal becomes available again. The built-in Nav does not suffer from this issue, and despite being somewhat clunky this is a big advantage IMO.

I thought I might be tempted if Honda brought something really special in the 50th, and I'm glad to see I'm not tempted in the slightest. To the contrary, I'm sad to see the end of inbuilt Nav as a signal of what Honda plans for future iterations of this bike.

I bet, they didn't even improve the seat.

But those are not the "50th" anniversary models. For the special badging at least.
I will offer this: Last year at this time, I saw the 2024 White/Black/Red and fell in love with the color combo. I hesitated all year about getting one, waiting to see if the 2025 would have ACC and other features. I finally bought mine in October and after seeing these 2025, I am very happy to have my 2024 in White/Black/Red. Yes, the wireless AA would be nice but I use the native nav a lot and would regret not having it.
I know someone will love the gold but I do not find it appealing nor retro enough to be cute.
John
Yo can always wrap it gold if you so inclined :)

website still states navigation and Sirius xm View attachment 477459
It’s not clear to me the bike has no mapping at all without your phone. I suspect it might have simple mapping that shows you where you are but it doesn’t have the capability to program routes and give directions … what they call navigation… just not sure.

For those of you worried about not having cell service and losing your directions on Google Maps, there is a simple solution. You can download offline maps onto your phone/device. Whenever you are out of a coverage area, your phone and AA/ACP will automatically switch to your saved maps. I do this a few days/weeks before every multi-day trip I take.

While I haven't red through all the replies, the Gold/dark color combo is remenisnt with certain GL1500s. I can't remember the years but they had that almost same paint scheme. I still like those and, I like the new version too.
